Triton not shifting gear

I have read these codes out of my triton/l200 and was wondering if anyone could help me with possible causes or next step diagnostics. The codes are P1780 and P1782 which is gear 2 and gear 4 ratio incorrect.

This is an indication that the TCM is not function properly As it is an automatic the gears in constant mesh with gear changes being effected by clutch packs and bands so the ratios are always correct just the selection is not working properly./ Hence the TCM fault.

My 2003 gt350 nissan skyline transmission stuck on 3rd gear i scan the car knock sensor fault code came change the sensor put new one still same problem anyone can help or any idea what the problem?

Here are some possible causes and steps to consider:

Check the transmission fluid level and condition. Shifting issues might be caused by low or filthy transmission fluid. Check that the transmission fluid is at the proper level and seems clean and red. If it is low or polluted, a fluid change and filter replacement may be required.

Transmission Solenoids: Modern automatic transmissions employ solenoids to manage gear shifting. A faulty solenoid might cause the transmission to stay in one gear. If needed, a professional can diagnose and replace malfunctioning solenoids.

Transmission Control Module (TCM): The TCM is in charge of controlling the operation of the transmission. It can cause shifting problems if it malfunctions or receives inaccurate sensor data. Check the TCM for fault codes and functionality.

Wiring and Electrical Issues: Examine the transmission's wiring and electrical connections, especially those to the TCM and sensors. Damaged wires, faulty couplings, or electrical issues can all disrupt transmission operation.
Shifting problems can also be caused by internal mechanical faults within the transmission, such as worn clutches, damaged gears, or a malfunctioning valve body. These problems can be diagnosed and repaired by a competent transmission mechanic.

Transmission Fluid Pressure: Proper gear engagement is dependent on transmission fluid pressure. Shifting might be affected by a malfunction with the transmission pump or pressure regulator. A pressure test can aid in the diagnosis of these problems.

Examine your vehicle for Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs): Even if the knock sensor problem has been rectified, there may be more DTCs associated with the transmission problem. Check for any stored trouble codes with a diagnostic scanner to gain more insight into the problem.

I hope this might be helpful.

I have a 02 saturan l200 and the shift stick broke off from place where the gears are. I know it sounds confusing but I don't know the name of all the parts. Can anyone help me

Pull up on the shift lever boot to disengage from the console. The shift lever boot is rubber or leather or some other material !
Using a small screwdriver, remove the lever assembly retaining clip.
Remove the lever assembly ! I know this may sound complicated but it's real easy ! The shift leaver goes to a shift linkage that goes to the gear box !

Button on the gear shift does not press into move gear shift on mountaineer

Check to see if brake lights are working when you step on pedal...if not you may have a bad brake lamp switch on the pedal shaft.if the shifter interlock doesn't see power out of the switch it won't allow you to shift out of park. It's a safety system to prevent anyone from shifting into gear when they might be pressing gas pedal. If you're stuck, sometimes you can turn key on to just before dash lights come on, put vehicle in neutral and start and shift, but be careful because you may not have brake lights and could cause an accident or possibly get pulled over.

I have a freightliner argosy with detroit series 60 and smartshift. Tonight the gearbox would only change up and down in the numbered gears and came up with fault code TRANS NoRESP and some numbers. Just...

I would suggest that it is taken to a freight liner service shop but I suggest that the code reading would indicate a fault in the wiring to the gear box. Possibly a fuse or a failed connection in the wiring or a faulty module for the gear box.

You really need to get it scanned to find out the codes, helping greatly with diagnosis. Could be many things ranging from a faulty mass airflow sensor, a bad throttle position sensor, or a vacuum leak just to name a few. Getting the codes will give great direction to pinpointing the problem.

Trouble shifting gears on 1997 Monte Carlo, what's a normal procedure

your going to need a diagnostic scanner that can read all the data in the ECM. Understanding what the data means will be the next step. Hopefully you have a code in memory to help diagnose this. If not then someone is going to have to drive the car with the scanner hooked up looking for any skewed data. Even if you have a code in memory you will need the manufacturer diagnostic procedures. If no code is in memory then your going to have to follow the symptoms flow chart to possibly find the problem.

L200/Triton 1999 v63.0L using oil ok on big trips

HI, this can be caused by a bad rings set or, improper rod bearing clearances as well. The cylinder walls may be worn, due to the bad ring set in this case, in return, causing oil consumption. i would also check Head gasket(s) and, PVC valve as well.
