Chances are its an ignition problem if nothing happened by using starting fluid. Have you pulled the plug wires and checked for spark ?

SOURCE: 2002 oldsmobile alero Security lock no fuel gets to engine

Hi, I just read somewhere on the WWW that the crank sensor and or fuse can be a issue. I too have a 2002 Alero.. Worst car I have ever owned!

SOURCE: wont start

Where the car runs on starter cleaner, this is definitely a fuel problem...

Could be a few things:

Do you hear the fuel pump running outside the car (for a few seconds) when you turn the key on (engine off)?

If not it might be the pump or the pump relay (in the engine compartment fuse and relay box)

If so, it might be:
Clogged inline fuel filter (in the fuel line from the pump to the engine)
Bad fuel pressure regulator
Bad injectors/wiring

Did you check the fuse and wires to see if you have power (and a good ground) to your engine computer (controls fuel injectors), this could also be the culprit (without power to the computer there is no way for the engine to get fuel).

SOURCE: NO SPARK AT PLUGS

Its probably the electrical part under the ignition coils follow your spark plug wires to the back of your firewall and remove both ignition coils and there is an small electrical plate that needs to be replaced and you should get your vehicle running because I had the same problem

SOURCE: 02 alero w/3.4 no start

Have you had any codes pulled?
A cold start issue may be related to a coolant sensor problem. When the engine is cold the engine control module will enrich the fuel mixture for start based on the reading it receives from the coolant sensor.
You can have it checked when cold and the temperature reading should match the out door temp. A scan tool will be required. Or replace the sensor, I believe the cost is less than $20.
Good luck, let me know.
Regards.

SOURCE: car wont start has power has fuel and starter

The security system is activated. It kills the injector pulse ( signal) and on some modles the starter. You will need to try to relearn the system. First try to start the car, leave the key in the run position for 10 minutes. Cycle the key off, then cycle it to the run position again for 10 more minutes. Cycle it off again, then back to run for another 10 min. after the last cycle turn it off then try to start the car. It is a 30 minute relearn. If this does not work you will need a repair shop to replace the passlock sensor. Good Luck

1990 eighty eight 3.8l. Why no fire/pulse to the injectors?

The camshaft sensor may be bad. Check the fuse for the injectors and it is possible the ECM is bad or the injector drivers more specifically are bad in the ECM .

Having problems in the morning starting and now it wont start at all not getting fuel up to the injectors when i spray starter fluid it starts until fluid burns off

Sounds like fuel pump issue. Do you hear the buzzing sound when you turn the key on, it should go for about 2 seconds,( which is the fuel pump priming the system with fuel)? Replace the fuel filter as well when you replace the pump, if it is the pump.

Won't start

When you put in the starter fluid does it continue to run after you stop spraying it in? It sounds like you have either a bad fuel filter or more likely a bad fuel pump.

My truck turns over, but wont start unless I spray starter fulid. What could be the problem?

Could be blocked fuel filter or fuel pum, does it keep running once you stop spraying the starter fluid, Try also cleaning out the throttle that could be restricting the mix.

Shut down at highway speed no longer starts

Spray starter fluid into the air breather. If it starts it could be a bad fuse, connection or fuel pump.
