Could also be a vacuum leak, which is why there's no change when you remove the vacuum line. Don't start replacing parts until you do some diagnostics

1996 Buick Century vacuum problem

Well doesn't matter what it's called. If it is loose and soft then you can take it off and get a new piece of hose from your local parts store.Unless it is a formed hose you will have no problem getting a replacement. You may want to check all other vacume lines as over time they will either get soft and **** shut or dry crack and leak.Any vacume leek will cause problems.Well hope this helps, and good luck.

Should the label be missing, or should vehicle be equipped with a different engine from the car's original equipment, refer to the diagrams below for the same or similar configuration.

Most likly cause to your problem would be the transfer case vacume switch check for vacume at switch then check for vacume at the front differntal if you have vacume at switch but none at the front differntal then replace transfer case vacume switch if no vacume at switch look for broken vacume line at intake manifold

Can anyone tell me what the cost to repair A/C vacuumed down and re-charged for a 1996 Jaguar XJ6, or can do it myself?

i will do it for 30€ no you cant do it yourself it requires a special machine----also it holds 1.47kg of R134 gas .why is it leaking perhaps the the seals need changing because r 134 gas attacks the seals which should be a putty coloured .if their black then these are only for r 12 gas .94 was the change over period from the gas types r 134 has a big radiator and r 12 has a small one in the top right hand corner
