I was low on gas so i went to the gas station and put in regular gas it drove fine until i got home then it started sputtering like it wanted to shut off so i revved the engine and keep it idling for a while then went in the next morning it stated sputtered out and now wont start so far i have herd it could be fuel pump or bad gas and or the fact that i put 87 in a 99 V6

Replace the fuel filter. That should fix the problem. You can follow the fuel line back to the fuel tank to find it. It is usually in the middle of the vehicle near the edge of the vehicle, like right under the passengers or drivers door.

Start off by replacing the fuel filter and spark plugs. If it still runs bad then check your fuel pump with a multimeter for consistency. If your fuel pump is ok then go ahead and replace the spark plug wires and oxygen sensor.

first replace the filter this is the least expensive repair..when u ran out of gas u may have sucked up (dirt) in the fuel tank.....if that doesnt work bring it to a service repair station an have a fuel pressure gauge hooked up to it....this willl tell u if the fuel pump is starting to fail...when u run low or out of gas the fuel pump can over heat an cause premature failure....u should never allow ur gas to go below a quarter of a tank since the fuel is what cools the fuel pump
