Temp gauge hot and car smelling hot the coolant in overflow hot had thermostat , water pump, drive belt and radiator hoses changed loses power immensely when air con is on took it to radiator mob they only had to change hoses radiator was fine any help would be appreciated
SOURCE: car runs hot
CHECK YOUR RELAY IN YOUR FUSE BOX UNDER THE HOOD ON THE DRIVERS SIDE INNER FENDER. THE A/C AND THE HEATER RELAY ARE SAME. CHECK AND SEE IF THE A/C REALY WORKS BY TURNING ON YOUR A/C SWITCH. THE ELECTRIC FAN SHOULD START RIGHT AWAY. OTHERWISE YOU HAVE TO WAIT TILL THE ENGINE ACHEIVES OPERATING TEMP TO KICK THE FAN ON. IF ONE DON'T WORK AND OTHER OTHER DOES... SWITCH THE RELAY AND SEE IF IT WORKS. BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT. $9.00 FOR A NEW RELAY AT CHECKER AUTO PARTS.
SOURCE: temp gauge goes all the way up to hot after only
You need to unplug the coolant senor that was replaced and see if the problem still exists,if so the wrong sensor was replaced. There is one that runs the cooling fan and one for the temp guage.

Well , I know $800 is a big bill , but think of it this way , you got a bunch of new stuff on the car. The timing belt replacement alone would cost someone almost $800 to have done by a mechanic , and if it broke and destroyed your engine how much would that have cost. It's always nice to solve the problem on the first try , but at least it is fixed now , and you won't have to worry about any of that other stuff for a long time.
SOURCE: temp gauge over heating no heat through vents cold
You will need to bleed the air out of the system there should be a bleeder where the top hose connects to the engine
SOURCE: car runs hot when driven but fine while idling. Replaced radiator, hoses, thermostat
You would probably be better off replacing the belt and pump again since the labor would be next to nothing.
I would want to test the cooling system for exhaust gas and try to verify the head gasket is actually leaking next.
Are you loosing coolant into the cylinders ? There may be something else causing the engine to run hot such as exhaust problems.
