I am having the transmission slip between 2-3 gear. I had the sensor replaced when the car was 2 years old. It is a 2006 model . I just had the transmission replaced to have the mechanic call me and tell me it is still doing the slipping in those gears. I did not take it to a dealer. But am going to know. what do you think it is and how much could it cost?
SOURCE: need to replace the clutch myself on a 2006 hyundai tiburon gt
why wont Hyundai fix it
you should get close to 200,000klms from a clutch my car is on its second and its done 352,104klms
Hyundai should warrant there cars they do in Australia
the only reason they wouldn't is if the car has been misused or used in an aggressive meaner
replacing it your self may void your warranty

If you have a check light on then of course that would be your best bet to go to Autozone or elsewhere and have them pull the codes for you to try and give you a clear understanding. If the light is not on but the car just does like you are indicating sometimes, then in almost all certainty it is the transmission speed sensor. They are not all that expensive (I had a Kia before and I believe it was around $30). And they are not all that difficult to change out. engine-light-help.com gives some information on speed sensors and some checks you can do. Hope this helps.

7 litres.... but keep in mind that's with the torque converter dry. so just keep adding fluid and checking the dipstick level.

Did you check the transmission fluid level? If necessary, add fluid. However you probably have a more serious problem. Take the car to a qualified transmission mechanic.
SOURCE: Why is my gear shift so hard to move??
I believe your clutch is not disengaging fully. When this happens it may be hard to get into first gear but subsequet shifts are easier due to the fact the vehicle is moving. You probably have a hydraulic clutch system which is low on fluid or may have air in the system. Before shifting into first gear or reverse try pumping the clutch pedal 5 or 6 times then shifting, if it goes into gear easier after this then you probably have air in the system, it can be bled similar to bleeding brakes. If this doesnt work you might be low on fluid, or have a bad master or slave cylinder.
