Passenger door does not open on a 1999 land rover

Look on the firewall behind the radio on the passenger side.

I had the same problem and found the solution in the owner's manual in the Home Link section. Go thru the manual page by page because it is not listed in index section.

Remove door panel and inspect mechanism. Latch at lock end most probably broken.

You are going to have to remove inner door panel and check the outside door handle connections and connecting rods. The door handle does break sometimes.

There is a little spring in the door lock itself that is broken. You can order the spring for a few $$$ from a few Land Rover on0line specialty shops. Its a big job to replace though as you have to remove the window regulator, And window glass & Frame to get to the lock to replace or fix it. Not much of an option though. I just spent 4-hrs tearing mine apart. I'll put it back together tomorrow AM.

need to take off door panel to access the door lock-- possible lock actuator rod damaged or most likely the rod clip broke or disconnected and need to replace or reconnect

Open the door panel, the linkage may have gotten disconnected.

I don't know if this will help but, my 1999 is on the outside of the passenger seat. Open the passenger door and look down. I hope its the same and Good Luck!!

it's possible you could have a linkage rod come loose or the door latch may need to be replaced.

I have a 2002 land rover discovery and my passenger front door won't unlock with the interior lock button on the dash or with the key fob. The only way to unlock the door is to pull the handle on the inside of the door. Is the actuator bad?
