you have a short disconnect the wiring and test motor

There should be a separate fuse for the antenna motor in the fuse panel located either in the engine compartment on the wheel well or inside the vehicle at either passenger doors

If the antenna motor runs and the antenna does not move out, then there is something wrong inside the antenna unit. Replacing a fuse will not solve the problem. Change the antenna unit.

The antenna should have its own fuse. Check the fuse box for a fuse location marked PWR ANT or similar. Good Luck.

If you can hear antenna motor is running, but the antenna is not going up,The nylon plastic antenna riser is out of rail or broken. If not, your radio fuse is busted.

I believe the antenna is powered thru the stereo, so you'd have to pull the radio fuse. You can unplug the antenna motor.

Power antennas general fail over time, especially if your winter has a lot of sand and salt on the roads.

Relay #27 in the box under the hood runs only the power antenna on a 1992. For the future here's the parts guide for everything in your jeep. Page 180 has a picture of what you want to pull.

The Auto anntena is driven by an electric motor tucked under the side skin inside the trunk. It is possible that some moisture leaked in and caused the system to blow, usually resulting in a blown fuse. Check the fuse box, the manual will identify the propler fuse position in the fusebox. If thats not the problem, than you'll have to look at the anntena drive motor a little closer.
