Hesitation on acceleration, much worse when cold. HAve replaced almost every sensor. Timing chain. Very few things left except fuel related. PO171. I also just read another post ablaut the long cranking warm engine. Same thing, though much better since replacing the timing chain, was very loose and timing def affected.
Usually caused by vacuum leaks. You can test the tps. Remove the connector and check resistance with an ohmmeter. Resistance should change smoothly as you open the throttle.

SOURCE: where is the crankshaft position sensor; how to replace
Both are located under the timing cover.you will have to remove the timing sproket to get to the CrankshaftPS. be careful to notice how you removed it. the sproket have to be reinstalled exactly the same way you removed it.
SOURCE: car won't start
Some thing is not back together correctly. How aout the ground wires on the intake. These are a must. Check for spark and fuel. Hope this helps
SOURCE: No spark, 1988 Toyota Camry 3SFE 4cyl, 5 speed.
there is no crank sensor on this vehicles 2.0L. If you have power to the coil, new coil, cap and rotor try this if not done yet>>>Unplug coil power first....Try pulling off the distributor cap, and make sure the rotor is spinning with the cam...If this fails to spin, inspect the entire distributor assembly. If it passes, Inspect all the power circuit and wiring to the dist assembly, if ok possible ecu. i recommend having a mechanic check it out!! Hopefully this helps...please rate...thanks

i would not just go buy a tps on a guess
first check to see if you can bring the throttle up by hand at the motor where the throttle cable connects to the throttle body it may be a cable that broke
Testimonial: "Yes it does move and appears to be ok."
SOURCE: on a 04 camry with 2.4 ltr engine, can I replace
I think the terms "Throttle Positon Sensor", TPS and "Throttle Body" can be misleading at least in regards to the 04 Camry.
My 04 Camry gave a diagnostic reading of P2121 for my problem "Throttle PEDAL position switch D circuit". However, we changed out the complete Throttle Body/TPS (Toyota Part #22030-0H020) that did NOT fix problem.
The 04 Camry TPS Electronic Module "Throttle Positon Sensor" is factory assembled and riveted to the side of the throttle body. The only way to service/inspect it would be to cut off or drill out the rivets. Not sure you could open the darn thing if you got it off, but that seems to be the only way Toyota sells them!!
Hopefully a new Throttle PEDAL Position Sensor (Toyota Part # 78010-33010 PEDAL ASSY, ACC)
will fix it. This is located under the dash near the accelerator pedal.
So, now I would recommend FIRST to replace the "Throttle PEDAL Positon Sensor" (it is much, much cheaper) and then the Throttle Body/TPS assembly!! Unless of course, you get a diagnostic code as you did for "faulty throttle body!!
