Can you remove the metal plate on shift gears on a 2002 A6 Audi. Auattro

Have the tow operator pick up the drive wheels and tow it to the service centre.

It could be something minor like a broken linkage, or something serious like, you need a tranny rebuild. You'll need a reputable shop to troubleshoot.

Is it not shifting into third gear (meaning you're at redline and the car won't shift), or is there not enough power to get the car going fast enough to warrant going into third gear? Have you checked to see if the car is in limp mode?

The lock shift solenoid that works withe break pedal has gone bad... it's located next to or In front of the shifter.. on some vehicles. You have a key slot that you can use another key or small screw driver in it to unlock the shifter. Just replace that and it should be fine..

Your friction plate is kaput. Replace clutch system. Sounds like the pressure plate needs attention as well. No idea of price but get prices of "clutch kit" on the web and you can have an idea.

hi, what it usually mean is that you have shifted down in to a lower gear whilst the revs where to high so then your gearbox goes into safe mode to protect it from further damage the only way to reset this is to take the car to a main dealers and have a diagnostic check done.

X plate?? 1981?? showing my age ----got me this one thats for sure ??oil level fine .....you sure because it sounds like either low oil ,bent gearchange or a bent clutch plate or worn cover .But and big BUT here ,could the gearshaft be bent,or damaged where it comes out the transmission tunnel .disconnect it from the gearbox and try the mechanism ,also the ball fitting in the bottom of the gearstick

two bolts through middle(allen key)they are about halfway along you will see them if you look underneath near edges of number plate.....

for Audi A6 2.8 automatic I want to ask the owner of this car if the mechanic repair the automatic gear or no after I will give the solution
