P1181 fault code

How is fuel gauge?going up and down?

I don't show a code 1181 for a Saturn, but for other GM products it is for a faulty shift solenoid in the transaxle. The solenoid would need to be tested and possibly replaced if that is the right definition for your model.

Diagnostic Test Code (DTC) P0768 is defined by SAE J2012 as "Shift Solenoid "D" Electrical".

This means that the shift solenoid (solenoid "D") inside your transmission has an electrical fault. This could be due to an electrical malfunction in the solenoid itself, or the wiring that connects it to the transmission contol unit.

P1181- Fuel Delivery System Malfunction - High

Don't know if it is any help but I had the same problem and it turned out to be the intercooler hose was split and sucking air. Fixed it and know problem now.

P 1181 code- long fuel trim max value air fuel lean.possible causes fuel filter clogged or restricted-fuel injectors dirty or restricted-fuel level too low during heavy acceleration events- fuel pressure regulator has failed.not supplying enough fuel- water or alcohol in fuel causing low 02 sensor signal during acceleration.

You need to get someone to do a code-read with a transmission capable scanner (transmission shop) You probably have a bad EPC (electronic pressure control) causing the transmission to slip, therefore setting a p1811 code (max adapt/long shift) which will max out the line pressure making your shifts very firm (but stopping the slipping/delayed shifts...this is a fail safe mode designed to keep your transmission from slipping until you address the underlying cause)

P1181 says Long term fuel Trim Additive, Max value, Air/Fuel too Lean

Check for vacuum leaks, check mass air flow sensor if this is ok - check fuel supply (pump, pressure)
