SOURCE: 2003 GMC Duramax Diesel won't start

I see that you had the injectors replaced 20,000 miles ago. I would still check the oil to make sure it is not overfull. The new injectors could be bad. If the oil level is not overfull then get a paper towel and touch the dip stick tip on the paper towel while oil is on the dip stick. If it's only oil it will not spread. If it has diesel in the oil the oil with spread. If this test doesn't show the injectors to be bad then you have three other possibilities. The FICM (fuel injection control module), the fuel pressure regulator, or the injection pump. It's hard to pinpoint what the problem is without running more tests and the only way to run those tests is with the computer the dealership has. Just so you know your injectors are still under warranty until 100,000 miles. Most likely you will have to take it to the dealership to get you truck fixed. I hope this helps you some.

The diagram is simple each glow plug is connected in a series circuit like this -0-0-0-0-0-0-0 that's a in-line 6 for a V-8 it would look like this
[-0-0-0-0
[-0-0-0-0
and the plugs would be hooked up on the back then if you follow the wire to the glow plug relay you will find that the relay has four wires one to battery one to the glow plugs one to the ignition switch and one to ground in the box. If you want you can purchase a manual for 5.99 on-line. and it covers the three fuse-able links for this system and the new Glow plugs available for this truck here is the web page. http://www.wiring-diagram.com/?gclid=CMuAvJ3Ql58CFQZfagod0jpAxQ

SOURCE: error code P0093, no fuel leak, filter changed

Hello! #1; The injection pump inlet hose has been known to kink which will cause this fault...The line is foam covered...#2; Have you changed the Fuel Rail Pressure Regulator?
If so, the connector and its wiring may be open or resistive...The wiring is as follows...Purple White from regulator to ECM pin #42...Yellow from regulator to ECM pin #77...Check with an ohm meter set on X1 scale...Most important is the condition of the FRPR connector...Radio shack has a product called DOXIT...It cleans contacts by merely
spraying...No-touch cleaning...Excellent product...$14.95...Two spray cans (small) one cleans the other protects...Not much is necessary...Also clean the connector for the Fuel Pressure Sensor...Wiring; Tan...Orange/Black...And Yellow,,,

Looking under the hood, there is a black box on the right with 6 or 8 torx head screws. You will need (I think)T-25 Torx bit and atleast a 6" extension. It still needs to be finnagled out after being unscrewed. It's not too difficult of a task, but may take 20mins or so if you've never done it before.

Engine cover removal on s-max

I would recommend loosening the fuel filter and then applying air for a compressor to the fuel tank and have someone watch for fuel filter and when it is full of fuel keep applying air and tighten the filter. check for fuel going through the line from the filter to the engine. Then have someone try to start it while still applying air the the tank which will help push the fuel. I used to do this all the time working on semi's and chevy express vans with duramax diesels.

Just changed oil on 2008 chev 2500HD Duramax and it is already black could this be a problem? i have noticed a clicking sound not constant but random coming from somewhere on the block

You need to run an engine cleaner through your engine. Drain about 1 quart out and pour in a bottle of cleaner. Let engine run for about 5 minutes and drain oil and change oil filter. You may want to consider doing this with the next 2-3 oil changes to remove all the build-up in the engine. You will tell a big difference. Also, some do this as I am one of them. During the winter months I use a thicker oil and during the summer the recommended oil weight. Just to assure you it's fine, read the owners manual and it should be in there about using a heavier weight. Good Luck

Excessive black exhaust on 2003 GMC Sierra Duramax Diesel.

This is what i would try (cheapest first) redexe/wyyns
injector cleaner, double dose, then i have put 1gal gas in 10gal diesel to increase burn temp (you may encounter a hot start problem temporarilly)then if still smoking, get a compresion check on the engine(this will tell you volumes)
by the way the NATO tanks put in 1/3 gas in diesel to stop it freezing in arctic conditions.any more than 1/3 can result in problems.

Priming fuel system on a 8.1L diesel engine 2001chev 1 ton dual

Well, one problem is, if its an 8.1, its not a diesel. The 8.1, or Vortec 8100, is a gas engine. The DuraMax is a 6.6 engine. There is usually not a priming system on a gas engine, because the fuel pumps will usually get it through the smaller filters used quick enough you dont need them. However, if it is a DuraMax engine, then right on top of the fitting where you mount your diesel filter, there is a primer pump and an air bleed valve. What you do is, open up that air bleed valve ( its a little black plastic octagon shaped thing on the top of the filter mount) then you pump the primer (the silver button looking thing) until you get diesel squiting out the air vent without too many air bubbles or gurgles.
