SOURCE: The ABS,Brake Light,Battery light go on and off sporadically while driving.Does this indicate an Alternator failure or a sensor/computer problem?

yes it's most likely a alternator problem, usually the internal diode bridge breaks causing all lights you mentioned to come on,if this happens at a idle open the hood and remove green connector on alt.if lights go out you've found the problem

SOURCE: Fuel Filter for a 2005 Subaru Outback

In 2005 Subaru moved the fuel filters to the fuel tank for both 4-cyl and 6-cyl cars. What is confusing is the statement in the owner's manual about replacement intervals; the statement actually only applies to 4-cyl cars. Even though the filter is mounted in the tank, this is still a replaceable element on 4-cyl, but not on 6-cyl. The 6-cyl filter element is part of the entire fuel pump assembly (a $300 assembly) and is not sold separately. Therefore the 6-cyl filter is intended to be a "lifetime" part, which really means it gets replaced when the fuel pump fails and the entire pump assembly is replaced.

Testimonial: "Excellent and timely advice. He cleared up a confusing question I had and got conflicting information from the vehicle owner's manual."

Vdc and check engine light on no traction in snow or rain 2004 subaru outback h6

Even with the VDC light on it shouldn't fishtail. Unless you have a lead foot or the tires are bald. Best to have the codes read. Could just be a bad wheel sensor.

Where to is the fuel filter for legacy outback H6 3.0 2001 model

the fuel filter is marked in the box.
first mark each hose with a different mark. then simply remove the clamps and carefully pry off each hose connection.
if the hose is damaged 5/8" fuel hose can be used to replace pieces if necessary due to drying out rubber

2001 Subaru Outback I am getting a brake and battery light on. And sometimes the engine shutters at take off. THX.

I had this same problem, I replaced both idler pulleys on my 2002 H6 sedan, this solved the problem, also the power steering pump onn these cars starts to go out after 80,000 or so. I would look at the belt and the two idler pulleys, if either of them have excessive play(ie-belt looks like it wiggles or moves back and forth at all, while traveling over the idler pulleys-2 on H6, one is a belt tensioner) replace immediatley.
