Locate the Knock Sensor in a 2001 Lexus RX 300

I took my car to Auto Zone and they said I needed a Knock Sensor. Well I purchased it but I am not sure of where its located in order to replace it. I know its in the engine but not exactly sure where....Unfortunately my mechanic has never worked on a Lexus! Please help!!

Better get another mecanic as the motor is the same as a toyota 3.0 lv6....scary

I recently changed both knock sensors and wiring harness on my 99 Lexus rx 300! I purchased the parts on ebay and they state (OEM PARTS) Check engine, P0330,

code p 0330 refers to knock sensor (KS)2 bank 2 ---circuit malfunction===causes wiring--KS---ECM
it is possible that in changing the harness there is a problem connection or the connection to ks2 is not correct ( not on properly)

I have conflicting reports as to where the knock sensor is located. ( 99 Lexus Rx 300, p0330 )bottom of engine block, near oil filter, top of engine near vacuum hose or the dreaded intake manifold!

Was running and the fuel rail was loose and after I discovered it was loose it shot gas out and shut down quickly while running.

It took 9 tries to start my 1999 Lexus RX 300, this is a intermittent problem.

sounds like low fuel pressure could be an array of things no engine light? even if no check engine light have it scanned for trouble codes its free at auto zone

locate your air filter box. a mass air flow sensor is ALWAYS in line between the air filter box and the throttle body. is there a percieved issue with this unit?

Where are knock sensors in my 99 Lexus RX 300 ?

Hello there..They are in the back of the engine block about in the middle of the motor..There might be one in the front of the engine in the middle of the block but most are in back.Hope this helps you and have a great day..
