I have scanned my car which is the kia picanto2005

Code P0741 is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) that indicates a problem with the torque converter clutch (TCC) circuit in a vehicle's automatic transmission system. The TCC is a hydraulic clutch that allows the engine to continue running while the vehicle is stopped, and it also helps to improve fuel efficiency when driving at highway speeds.
There are several potential causes for a P0741 code, including:
  • Failed torque converter clutch solenoid
  • Wiring issues, such as damaged or corroded wires
  • Failed torque converter clutch
  • Failed transmission control module (TCM)
To fix a P0741 code, it will be necessary to diagnose the specific cause of the problem and then perform the appropriate repair. This will typically require the expertise of a trained mechanic, as working on a vehicle's transmission system can be complex and requires specialized tools and knowledge.
If you are experiencing a P0741 code on your vehicle and are unsure how to proceed, it is recommended to take your vehicle to a mechanic or dealership for diagnosis and repair. They will be able to identify the specific cause of the problem and provide the necessary repairs to fix the issue.

My Ford Focus 2006 4 cyc has an engine code PO741 on my OB2. What does that mean?

P0741 Torque convertor clutch circuit failure,it is located in the transmission valvle body, it is attatch to the valve body you can remove it seperately as long as your going to own the Ford focus you might as well get use to replacing these all the time, very common transmission issue with todays car. By the way it is sensitive to worn transmission fluid, when you dont service often these are suspectable to failure.

I recently had the ck engine light come on my 05 toyota corolla CE...ran the scanner on it to pull up the p0741 code. I took it to dealership and thought might be related to ECM issue , they replaced it...

Yeah Toyota is aware of this situation.Production changes have occurred to correct this condition.
You did the right thing to take it to the the dealership because when they pulled the code p0741 they had to apply the Toyota Technical Service bulletin TC008-04" to your vehicle.
They had to perform several tests and since you said they replaced the ECU for free it was because your vehicle was lower then 5 years old and less then 60,000 miles. This TBS is covered by the powertrain Warranty. They had to replaced the ECU with an updated unit, and that particular warranty is in effect for 96 months or 80,000 miles. Your car should be back on the road running like a champion and you should NOT have the same code again.

How do I repair a problem with the code p0742?

Hey marcarhernan

This code is set when there is a variance in speed from the transmission input and output shafts. It can be a simple sensor issue or a more complex internal problem. There are several recalls for VUE transmissions but I do not think yours falls under this problem. Yours sounds more like an internal belt issue which Saturn has a technical bulletin for as shown below. This usually requires replacement of the case cover and filter and sometimes the belt depending on the damage. This is the bulletin that has to do with your code;

Bulletin No.: 04-07-30-024E
Date: June 09, 2006
TECHNICAL
Subject:
No Movement in Drive or Reverse with or without DTC P0741, P0742, P0841, P1756, P1758, or P1882 (Replace Case Cover Assembly and Filter) Models:
2002 Saturn VUE - Retrofitted with a 2003 or 2004 VT25E (VTi) transaxle (RPO M16/M75)
2003-2004 Saturn ION
2003-2005 Saturn VUE
with VT25E (VTi) transaxle (RPO M16/M75)
Supercede:
This bulletin is being revised to add additional Correction information. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 04-07-30-024D (Section 07 - Transmission/Transaxle).
Condition
Some customers may comment on the vehicle not moving in the "D" (Drive) or "R" (Reverse) gear selection positions. In many cases, the transaxle will also produce an audible grind or whine noise when attempting to operate in drive or reverse. The Service Engine Soon (SES) telltale may be illuminated with DTCs P0741, P0742, P0841, P1756, P1758, or P1882 set.
Cause
This condition may occur when the VT25E transaxle belt has malfunctioned.
