The check engine light is on, but using my handheld OBD II reader I get no codes with key on engine off. If I start the car with the reader plugged in I get P1633.
I did not write down the description, as it always matches what I see online when I research codes. However, in this case, I do not recall it being the same (it is my brother-in-law's car or I would check again). I remember the word "outputs" in the code description on the reader. The code number is definitely P1633.
Any thoughts, perhaps an easy fix?
P1633 is keep alive power voltage to low!! check voltage from alternator to battery, as well as all wires also.make sure battery terminals are not corroded. when car is running, voltage to battery should be 13.5 to14.5, when off voltage at battery should be 12.0 to 12.6,
