I cleaned all the connections. the belt is ok. but the daytime running lights had been staying on when car off. so had been disconnecting battery cable.so while changing oil i pulled a fuse under hood and they went off but nothing else so left it that way and not long after this happened dont want to buy altinator if only a fuse or relay
I would reinstall the fuse you removed first, you can check the owners manual that came with the car it will tell you what fuse does what, you can in gauge the parking brake one click until the brake light on the dash comes on and should cause the daytime running lights to shut off and because you are only doing 1 or 3 clicks the brake should not engage or you can just unplug the switch on the parking brake and have the same effect
Let me if it works it would help in finding your problem if I knew the year, make, and model please

Check all cables including those to alternator for corrosion, typically greenish. Dielectric grease is helpful on contacts. New cables may not be necessary but if heavily corroded they aren't terribly expensive.
SOURCE: Dash lights and taillights out fuses all ok
In battery junction box or the under hood fuse panel check fuse no 11(15amp),it will be at the center of the fuse box where there is 4 fuse slots but looks like only 3 fuses, if this fuse in good then you will see a relay that is shaped kinda like a cross. This is the parklamp relay which also powers the dash lights.

If you purchased an aftermarket altinater they can be bad. I have had bad ones before. Pull positive post off battery and keep it off for about 30 seconds to a minute. Reattach the cable and see what happens. This resets the computer. have the altinater checked but not at Schucks or the warehouse parts stores. Find a Napa as they seem to have the best testers and altinaters.
SOURCE: 1995 ford escort, alarm keeps going off and car wont start
The alarm brain should not be the easy to locate if stock. Put everything as it was. The alarm brain, control, module or whatever any one wants to call it is most likely behind and under the radio possibly on the floor but in that area. That is if it is OEM if not then it should have been installed under the instrument cluster. I should be a small box probably held with zip-ties and it should have all the information, manufacturer, model and wire functions on the brain. If you think he found the right thing then have him look for the red wire that connects to it. It should have a 15amp fuse on the cable. If its taken out this will disable the alarm. What ever he found should say Security, Alarm or something like that. Not door control or anything other.
SOURCE: no start condition new battery , good starter,
no starter relay is always at the fuse relay box at the engine compartment. The relay that you hear is the relay for the accessories to turn off the power during starting position.

Its pretty hard to test the fuel pump relay. Easiest way to test fuel function is at the motor from the fuel rail. There should be a high pressure fitting (similar to a tire valve stem) that you can push in to check for fuel. It should squirt out (fuel) if the pump is sending fuel to the motor and if not start back tracking looking for fuel pump/pressures/leak issues. If you decide to replace the relay then I would suspect $30-$50 or find a decent on at a junkyard. The relay should click when ignition is turnerd so u know its working properly.
