my car is pouring oil. i thought was my valve cover gaskets at first but with the ammount of oil i thought has to be oil pressure sending unitand all/most oil seems to be comming off back of motor but my sensor is located on back like most its next to my oil filter and there isnt a lot of oil there so now i have car running to see where oil comming from and follow it back what is your opinion

best way to find where oil is coming from is to wash/degrease the engine and then run engine and look for leaks. driving the car will only blow it all over and make detection very hard.

1997 nissan pickup 2 whl drive 2.4l oil is pouring from oil pressure sensor or oil filter when running. can not tell the exact location of leak but looks more like the sensor than the filter.

unscrew the sensor and replace. its a $10 part. The other problem could be a loose oil filter or an oil filter with two gaskets, this happens when an old gasket does not come off with the filter.

New Engine oil pours out from under valve cover...

Hello there. This issue will be the result of a warped vale cover, or a failed valve cover gasket. the more common culprit will most likely be a failed valve cover gasket. You may isolate the problem by removing the cover, and using a level to confirm the cover alignment. If it dose not line up correctly to the head, replace the valve cover. Now, if the cover is ok and not warped, simply, replace the failed valve cover gasket.
