2000 volvo v40 power seat problem

VOLVO V40 1.9 D turbo, engine: D4192T2
Glow plug relay is in the engine bay, bolted on the firewall left hand side,near the the brake booster.

The first thing to check is the backrest release switch activator. This is a small plastic lever located under the backrest pivot point under the bottom of the seat. There is a small spring attached to it. The attachment point is what normally brakes. If you locate the micro switch, you can close the switch with your finger and try to move the seat at the same time (watch your fingers!). If this is the problem, you can get this plastic piece and replace it. This is not the most enjoyable job and will take a lot of patience. Let me know if you need more info.

the flasher relay is most likely bad. or the switch could be bad. do the turn signals work? double check the fuse.

your blinker switch is broken.

located in passenger compartment fuse and relay box

There should be a guide in the manual, or a diagram in the fuse box lid to point out witch fuse goes where.
Lighters use a fair bit of power, so i would look for a 20A fuse or higher.

Dirt on the sensors ???

on the transmission.

it could be a fan switch relay also. or a bad connection. or any type of thing. it's best to let the volvo dealer take care of the issues. volvo's are tricky to work on and they are best equipped with highly skilled and trained volvo technicians that would know more about volvo's than any other shop around.
