I dont know about your car but I have a lever on the side of the seat, bottom part, by door. It slides out and you can push down and it will ajust the seat up or down. sometimes it will ride up on its own, and I just push it down again firm and it should stay. Hope this works for you.

How can I adjust the height of the driver's seat in a '74 beetle ?

this is not possible without extensive seat base modification. It would be cheaper to take the seat back to the upholsterer and have them use a thinner foam in the seat.

Not enough adjustment front drivers seat

First thing I'd do is go to any used car lot and sit in a similar vehicle. at 6'3" you are not excessively tall but that depends on how much of you is leg...sounds funny but people are not exactly the same. If that one is comfortable, check to make sure there is nothing caught in the track for your seat, and that it is going back as much as the one you tested.
If both vehicles are the same, you can remove the seat from the floor and re-locate the seat back a few inches. On many vehicles, at least two of the bolts may go directly into the top of the frame. You will need to tap new threads into those holes. I also recommend that you use a large (2"-3") washer on the bottom side of the others to prevent the bolt from pulling through in an accident. Track repairs if necessary on your seat are generally difficult and expensive unless you find something minor...in that case you can replace the entire seat with one from a scrapyard. If you don't have an unusual color, they are fairly easy to match.

Front drivers seat back broke and willnot support

yes you can purchase seat back only. Salvage yard or a ford dealer can help you for parts. Hope this helps.

How is the clutch adjusted?

painfully! you sit upside down in the drivers seat and you adjust the thread and nut behind the pedal. (make sure the clutch is well bled first)

Passenger seat back will not move either direction

Motor on the seat may have gone out, contacts in switch got dirty or worn, or assembly reached limit and stuck. Try sitting in it pushing back hard and adjust. If not youll need to replace switch,b take seat apart to fix or replace.
