O2 sensors are on each side of a v engine before the catalytic converter and one aft if you have two converters then you will have two downstream. Usually the ones closest to the exhaust manifolds go first

Normally just replace the HO2S sensor using the correct tool for the job so as not to damage the wiring to the unit as it is wired directly to the ECM unit.

SOURCE: 2001 cadillac deville, overheats without loss of coolant

First, provided their are no visible coolant leaks and/or loss of coolant with no signs of leaks, I would thoroughly flush cooling system and replace coolant, then check and/or replace thermostat (you can place thermostat in boiling water to check for proper function), if you have tried these 2 steps and still are experiencing overheating you may need to replace your water pump which can be a tricky job if you're unfamiliar and try to do it yourself, however, I could walk you through it if necessary. Also visually check your radiator hoses for bulges, wear ,etc along with heater hoses etc. You may want to also check radiator fins to see if they are dirty/obstructed and clean if necessary. Let me know if I can assist you further and how it works out

Engine code p0132

metro is a suzuki swift.
1997, is usa OBD2 spec car. so
what engine?
the P codes are relevant to only 1 engine , in all cars.
the metro was sold with 3 engines.
1.0 L LP2 I3
1.3 L L72 I4
1.3 L LY8 16-valve I4

which one? the L codes are GM codes.
the L72 is a Suzuki G13BA (my wild guess)
so what does 132 mean with that engine
here is the answer
O2 Oxygen Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank1, Sensor1)
the front sensor reads wrong. (the oxy readings are stuck HIGH)
sensor 1 means FRONT.

verbatim G13
Trouble Code Conditions:
Engine started, IAT sensor from 14-158F, ECT sensor more than 176?F, BARO sensor over 75 kPa, vehicle driven to a speed of over 35 mph for 2 minutes, followed by an idle period with the engine speed steady for 2 minutes, and the PCM detected the maximum HO2S signal was more than 600 mv during the CCM test.
Possible Causes:
  • HO2S is contaminated, damaged or it has failed
  • HO2S signal circuit shorted to power (check the heater circuit)
  • PCM has failed (never, i say)
or it fell off.
or the wires fell off
or the wires are melt, cut or burned to death
or are shorted. or , or , well just look.

or its just bad.

Hi, I have a 96 Jeep Cherokee with straight 6 cyclinder engine. The check engine lights on and Itook get to be put on a machine and the codes readed P0132,P0135,P0300,P0301,and P0420. Could you tell me

p132+ an O2 sensor reading is high bank1,sensor1, p135=O2 Heater circuit is bad, bank1,sensor1.

P300= Random misfires, p301 misfire cylinder1.p302 misfire cylinder2

p420 Bank1 Catalytic converter efficiency failing

What this means is that the Bank1 O2 sensor is either bad or the wiring to it is defective. Check for heat burnthrough on wires. The misfires started randomly and now pinpoint to cylinders 1 and 2.

The Catalytic converter failing because the misfires are clogging it. This can self correct once the cylinders stop misfiring.

Which messed up first is where you start solving this. Replace the O2 sensor, it is fouled out on Bank1. The heater circuit(p135) just makes it work faster and has little effect once you are underway. But high resistence in the O2(p132) means it is coated and ineffective.

There is a problem with firing #1 and #2 sparkplug. Probably the cause for the Catalytic converter plugging. A cracked coil, plug wires, sparkplugs are some causes as well as dirty fuel injectors on those 2 cylinders.

It is a cause and effect situation where 1 part fails and damages another. You need to fix the source of the problem or you will repeat th damage.

P0155: O2 Sensor heater Circuit Malfunction (bank2 ) Sensor 1.

P0141: O2 Sensor heater Circuit Malfunction (bank1 ) Sensor 2.

P0135: O2 Sensor heater Circuit Malfunction (bank1,Sensor1)

P0136: O2 Sensor Circuit Low voltage (bank1) Sensor 2.

P0443 : Evaporative Emission control System Purge control valve.

P1451: Eavporative Control System Canister vent solenoid Circuit Malfunction.

P0161: O2 Sensor Circuit Low voltage (bank2,Sensor2)

P1409: Electronic Vacuum Regulator (EVR) control circuit malfunction.

change the O2 sensors first,Then check the the EGR Vacuum regulator for any Malfunction. Good luck

Replaced the O2 sensor unit and the ECM(programs installed) but I'm still getting CHECK ENGINE LIGHT(P0001). what is the possible problem and how can this be resolved?

P0001 Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit/Open The above code is about an oxygen sensor code for the heater circuit located in bank 1 sensor 1. (bank 1 is at exhaust manifold by the #1 cylinder head, bank 2 is on the 2nd cylinder head. On some engines, both exhaust manifolds could have one oxygen sensor each side and the 2nd cylinder head will have the sensor 2). On the oxygen sensor itself, it has 4 wires which are color coded. Two of wires are for the heater circuit that heats the oxygen sensor to make it reach optimum operation quickly. Those 2 oxygen sensor heater wires could be shorted between the sensor and the ecm (engine computer) or other engine components.
oxygen%20sensor%20heater%20copy.jpgThe common fix for this code is to check the integrity of the heater wires. Check the wires for insulation and routing which could be loose or touching a hot exhaust that can short the wires. If the engine has too many miles, it is possible that the heater circuit inside is worn and shorted which needs a replacement of the oxygen sensor. If you have a DVOM, you can also test the continuity of the heater wires from the oxygen sensor to your computer pins.
More detailed fixes will be provided as soon as you give the symptoms of the obd2 trouble code. ATS will provide the wiring diagram so you can trace the color coded wires. Use an obd2 code reader or scanner so you can access this obd2 trouble code. When you have this obd2 code list, use it as a reference and give the code to ATS. We will then send you all the possible fixes for the obd2 trouble code. ATS has lots of fixes for obd2 gm codes, obd2 ford codes, dodge obd2 codes and all obd2 import codes such as Toyota obd2 codes, Honda obd2 codes, Nissan obd2 codes, etc. All fixes for this obd2 codes are guaranteed or your money back.
Important TIPS about Oxygen sensor:
The oxygen sensor content of the exhaust gas indicates when the engine mixture is operating lean or rich. When the oxygen sensor detects that the engine is operating rich, the signal voltage is high, and any decreases in the signal voltage means the engine running is lean. The engine computer supplies a reference voltage like one volt or five volts, and then shows the change in the sensor return voltage as the sensor's resistance is changing. If you have connected everything properly, when you crank the engine, you should see the check engine light coming out.
Unheated oxygen sensors rely on the heat of the exhaust gases to reach the working temperature, therefore they might start to cool down while the engine is idling and revert back to a default air-fuel ratio setting. This type of sensor usually has a single wire connector, though others have two. Unlike the fuel pump relay, the 02 sensor heater circuits have a separate fuse for each sensor and grounds, which are controlled by the engine computer.
To read a voltage across the heater, one side must be connected to (+) and one side must be connected to (-), which is accomplished by the computer or a transistor. It can read 12V between each wire and a separate ground if it was connected to positive and the other was not yet connected to ground connection (for details, please contact ATS).after you replace oxygen sensor you have to drive for so many miles before it resets its sef

Has something to do with your relay. I have searched through all my manuals and cannot find anything else about it. But you will need to replace a O2 sensor
