Could have burnt out the fuel pump, check your fuel pressure at the fuel rail at the motor. Then got try this small thing. Get starting fluid and put a little spray and I do mean little and try to crank of starting fluid. If it cranks on it then. I would go back to the fuel pump in the tank. They burn out easily when you run out of gas, also check fuses and relays if motor isn't buzzing

SOURCE: ran out of gas car wont start

first make sure theirs enough gas in the car now, about 5 gallons. next open the gas door, then the cap. next put your ear to the open fule filler neck. then have someone put the key in the "on" position so teh dash lights up and all, but dont start. this should trigger the pump to start, if you can hear a buzz then the pumps on and working, if not the pump is dead.if this is the case just be sure by checking the fuses to confirm. only way to get to the pump is drop the tank. also dropping the rear exhaust helps too.

SOURCE: car ran out of gas. put gas in it now it wont

The fuel lubricates the fuel pump, so if you ran completly out you may have burned out the fuel pump. First you can do a fuel pressure test, it should be 41-47 psi, if low replace filter and check again. If still low verify pump is getting power then replace. Thanks

95 GT mustang wont start

You ran the car out gas and there's air in the system.. Not the Throttle Body.. Expel the air from the system.. 1. Raise/Support your hood.. 2. Turn your key to the ign position, (listen for the fuel pump to come on).. 3. Go to the fuel rail(s) and press the Schrader Valve, (looks like a tire air valve), until only fuel comes out.. (use safety gear, especially for eyes) 4. Rinse/Collect excess fuel before cranking (careful around electrical connections)

I have an 04 colorado. I just put a new fuel pump and filter in it. Now it wont start I drained all the old gas out and put fresh gas in. I hear the fuel pump working and checked to see if I had fuel...

If you have gas, and the fuel pump is working, all i can suggest is cycling the ignition on and off several times to fill the system. Don't turn the engine over, just turn the key on until the fuel pump cuts out, and repeat. Do this several times. If gas is the problem, it should fire up. If it doesn't, better check for spark. Let me know how you make out.

I have a 2000 grand am and I ran it out of gas. I put gas in it.

look for the fule rail on top of the motor there should be a release looks like a tire vavle stem push that in and see if you can get fuel to come out that should purge your fuel system if that doesnt work then your fuel pump may have gone out

Gas

Have you purged the air out of the fuel lines? Under the hood there is a fuel rail feeding the injectors. On that rail there is a fitting pointing up with a cap on it. Remove the cap and you will see a valvre like a tire valve stem. Have someone depress the pin like you would let air out of a tire and someone tirn the ingnition on. On, not try to crank or start, Just on. With the valve depressed you will see the air come out and then the fuel. let the valve go when nothing but fuel comes out.. Bingo, it's perged Fire it up!!.
