Hi. You have to perform battery load test and voltage drop test. Not enough info to pin point the problem. Could be anything from shorted light to faulty alternator. Please supply with more info. Thanks

SOURCE: windshield wipers will not work, battery drains

do you have a light bulb in the glove box? if so pull it out, and it sounds to me like the multifunction switch is malfunctioning, the battery being low would cause the radio not to work if the voltage drops beloow 11 volts so try the multi function switch, if you can follow a wiring diagram then go to http://www.alldatadiy.com buy a subscription for your car clcik on search and type in symptom also look at recalls for your car that wil help you to figure out what is wrong if you need more assistance let me know.

SOURCE: excessive battery drain when all is switched off

i have a 2003 ford windstar that had both battery drain and flickering dome lights and solved both. The battery drain believe it or not was the radio which is factory. This was the only fuse that i didn't pull(trying too narrow my drain) because it didn't look like a fuse.... it looks like a square block and it took a pair of needle nose pliers to get it out. Once i got it out it initially raised the amp pull, but then i waited the 30 minutes for the computor go to sleep or into hibernative mode the amp dropped off to next to nothing.... below what factory spec said it should be....next the flickering dome lights.... it turned out to be a wiring culprit in the headliner above the support post behind the passenger sliding door.... i re-wrapped it and haven't seen a flicker since. Oh and one other thing i would like to add, we thought my transmission had gone up about a year ago.... even the dealer said i needed a new tranny, but after talking to a couple of mechanics i was convinced to replace the torque converter and i was back on the road driving. The symtom was that it just stopped! We drove to the store fine and came back out to go home and it started fine but would not move. I hope all this info helps many who are struggling out there!!

When I turn the key, the lights go on, windows work, sunroof works... but when I turn it to the start position, nothing happened. If I jump it at the started with the key on, it runs OK.

Try another battery. Sometimes a battery might have enough amp to turn the lights on, open and close the windows, and even beep the horn. Sometimes it might even display that it have the right amp, but in reality the battery is damage giving you the wrong information.
Test with another battery, you could borrow one from a friend. Being there, done that.

Alarm system keeps going off. Can not start the car

possible that the battery is almost flat and when you turn the key the current is almost nil and so the alarm goes off as if the car is being stolen. have a load test done on the battery. clean battery terminals and posts to shiny clean and make sure that they are tight.

1995 dodge caravan key stuck in ignition. No electrical / power

I had this problem. I called AAA. They sent over a locksmith who took out the cylender and did something to it removing the part that sticks (time elapsed, five minutes) Now it turns easily but once the car is turned on the key doens't need to be in the ignition at all! I have to be careful when I leave the car the ignition is in the right position or it can drain the battery. I always warn garage attendants when I leave the car. (tho apparently this is common) So this is a quick and easy fix. Just get a locksmith. Use your AAA because they will give you a discount. It only cost me fifty bucks.

My car is bining when I open door, indicates that a light is on or keys in ignition no lights on and no key in ignition, battery is being drained?

There is a good chance your Ignition switch is worn out or an adjustment has slipped. There are a certain amount of functions done at the powerhead of the Ignition switch and some functions are done lower, at the end of the steering column. There will be a rod or cable running the length of the steering column and some are adjustable.

The battery can easily be drained or components can be damaged when left on for 24/7 because the key does not turn off. Try the passengers door to see if the chime goes off when it opens too.
There is a part inside the Ignition switch that detects the key. This means your battery may be fine, just the indicator is broken. There is always a way to tell, but it is easier to replace the switch.

The Ignition switch is not too difficult to replace. It may have some Antitheft screws holding the case to the column. The plastic cover on the column will need to be removed. There is usually a trigger pin hole in the plastic cover. When this pin is push with a drill bit or similar part, the core of the Ignition switch will be released.

I hope you found my Solution helpful.

My back break lights are not working the inside lights stay on when car is off car says hazard ligths are on when they are not and when car is off it beeps like you left the keys in the ignition when they...

beeping maybe light on warning instead of key warning. Brake lights go through the hazard and turnsignal switch. Hazards may not be flashing due to bad flasher, but may be turned on. Most likely possibility is hazard switch contact in combination switch (hazard and turnsignal switch in one unit). Unplug the turnsignal switch at the bottom of the steering column and see if the problems go away, and you will know if that is it.

Car wont start

Put your key in turn it on dont start wait 10 mins remove key wait 10 seconds repeat this a total of 3 times. If that dont work try a different key do the same thing. If that dont work a dealer needs to probably replace and reprogram your ignition switch and keys
