Can I get the procedure for removing and replacing the rear bearing hub assemblies for a 1990 Taurus Wagon? I have a very loud grinding noise while driving, which is not the brakes, as the brakes are not squeeking, and appear to be in good working order. I bought the car a few months ago, and continue to drive it with the grinding noise. The odometer shows 18,150.1 miles. Do the brake shoes need to come off, or can I just remove the drums, and nuts with the coter pins to remove the bearing hub assemblies? I intend on replacing both sides at the same time.
Thanks
The bearings should be inside the drum assembly. The brakes do not have to come off. The bearings may have to be pressed out if they are sealed type bearings.
