Possible fuel pump. Look under the truck and locate the fuel tank. Have an assistant turn the key to the on position(2nd position) and listen to see if your fuel pump gives a him sound for about 2 seconds. If not, bang on the tank with the palm of your hand a few times and try it again. If you hear it, tell your assistant to try and start it. If it cranks, your fuel pump will need replacing.
You have to check the fuel pump pressure to make sure it is supplying sufficient fuel pressure..Try turning the switch to on but do not start..now listen for the fuel pump to prime the system..it should run for 4-5 seconds the shut off..now try and start..if it is fully primed it should start...note although you are getting some gas dosent mean the pump is ok...sometimes it starts to go bad and then all at once it will let you down for good...have it checked out..good luck
If the filter is not seated on the new fuel pump properly or has fallen off after installation it will ruin the pump immediately. I have seen many people do this. It is a very common problem when changing the fuel pump.
EVERY VEHICLE NEED 3 THINGS TO START PROPERLY AND RUN PROPERLY..AND PROPER AMOUNTS OF THEM.
SPARK, FUEL AND AIR.
HAVE YOU GIVEN IT A TUNE-UP FIRST?
NEW PLUGS/WIRES.
NEW AIR FILTER.
NEW PCV VALVE
PUT SOME HI GRADE GAS IN IT AND PERHAPS SOME FUEL INJ/CARB CLNR/GAS LINE ANTIFREEZE.
OIL CHANGE IF IT NEEDS IT.
NEED A STARTING POINT.
IF AFTER YOU KNOW BASICS ARE LOOKED AFTER AND THERE IS NO CHANGE IN PERFORMANCE OR THE SYMPTOMS CHANGE,
IT WILL MAKE ASSESSING THE PROBLEM THAT MUCH EASIER.
WORSE CASE SCENARIO, GET A CODE READER HOOKED ON IT, GO FROM THERE.
that has a votec engine in it the fuel pressure is droping at knight and it takes 60 psi before the injectors will fire most likely cause fuel pump ,leaking injector ,or a feul pressure regulator
It sounds like your EGR Valve has Carbon deposit. I am gussing you have done a tune up and there are no check engine lights on. Just remove the EGR valve and clean it with carb creaner or injector cleaner. It's a common thing with the 92-95 votec . Good luck
