After starting my van, I back out of my drive way and when I push the gas, it barely idles up, and then spits and sputters and then backfires a little. I checked the water and it was low so I flushed the radiator and removed a lot of rust(van is rusted badly everywhere)filled with water/antifreeze 5050. Drove great for 2 days, then this morning done the same thing, and after running a few times straightned up. After getting home, I checked the water again, and the level is fine, but bad rusty looking again. Could this rust be the problem? possibly making the water pump clog or go out? And would flushing again fix...THANK YOU

Have the fuel pump checked it may be weak.
SOURCE: Ford 460 loses power then dies. Starts back up. Idles fine.

electronic control module or try doing a simple tune up. could be bad gas or bad injector

Backfiring is not going to have anything to do with the level of fuel in the tank. You most likely have burned valves or broken valve springs in your engine. I would do a compression test.

Use a gas treatment with a full tank of premium gas and see if it clean out your fuel system. It could also be your MAF sensor. There are ways to clean them but you have to be careful not to damage it.
