Whenever the "Check Engine" light comes on, there is always a DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) stored in the ECM (Engine Control Module). You'll need an OBDII (On-Board-Diagnostics) scanner to retrieve any codes recorded/set in ECM. Once you do this and let us know what it/they is/are, then perhaps we can help you. Otherwise, Take/tow the vehicle into a Hyundai Service Center (dealership), pay the diagnostic fee. They will tell you EXACTLY what the problem is and what's needed to fix it (parts, labor, tax, time-frame, etc.).

Lifter problem in 2001 Hyundai accent GL

The noise you hear could very well be a lifter. But that is not what is causing your engine light to come on. The engine light problem can be diagnosed by having the codes read. You can have this done for free at most national parts chains such as Advance or Auto Zone. Good luck! I hope you find this to be very helpful!

2008 hyundai indicator light

IT SOUNDS LIKE THE TIRE PRESSURE LIGHT. YOUR TIRES LOOSE AIR PRESSURE WHEN THE WEATHER GOES FROM HOT TO COLD. TRY ADDING SOME AIR TO THE TIRES. THE LIGHT SHOULD GO OUT. ALSO, LOOK IN THE OWNERS MANUAL, IT SHOULD GIVE AN EXPLANATION OF WARNING LIGHTS.
