SOURCE: the inside hood release wire pulled out but it wont spring back

You need to replace the hood release mechanism. You can access the hood release from under the car - you'll need access to a pit though. Good luck

SOURCE: the hood release cable on

the only other way to open the hood is to go through the front grill (not easy) by removing it or try lying under the front of the car and reach up with a long screwdriver or pry bar and try to trip the latch where the broken cable is-the best and fastest way to fix this though is to get the car to a good body shop.

Where is the relay for the back glass release on a 1993 gmc yukon

The back glass release relay on a 1993 GMC Yukon is located in the fuse box under the hood of the vehicle. The exact location of the relay is usually indicated on the inside of the fuse box lid.

To find the back glass release relay, first locate the fuse box under the hood of your 1993 GMC Yukon. Then, locate the relay diagram printed on the inside of the fuse box lid. Look for the relay labeled "back glass release" or something similar.

If you are having trouble locating the relay or if it has burnt out and needs to be replaced, it is recommended that you consult the vehicle owner's manual or take your vehicle to a qualified mechanic for assistance.

I can't find the latch to open the bonnet on my 2011 Holden Cruze

I presume you refer to a 2011 Chevy Cruze?
If not this fix applies to most automobiles.

The release lever is located just inside the door low under the wheel and gauges near the kick plate. Reach down under the dash and pull up in the lever to release the hood.

One the hood is released, pull up on it And push the catch until the hood raises freely and then lock it open with the hood prop located inside the motor compartment.

How do I gain access under the hood?

By pulling the hood release located inside the vehicle on the drivers side. If the inside latch is not broken have someone push down very hard on the hood while you pull on the hood release. If the inside latch is broken you may be able to get under the front of the vehicle and use a long screwdriver to reach up and pop the latch.

How do I open the hood of a Mitsubishi L300 ?

  1. Locate the interior hood-release lever under the dashboard on the driver's side of the interior of the car.

  2. 2

Lift up and toward you on the hood release lever. The lever is connected to a cable that releases the hood. The hood will pop up about 1/2 inch when you pull the lever.

  3. 3

Move to the front of the car and locate the exterior hood-release lever under the front of the hood. It is located near the middle of the vehicle, just beyond where the front edge of the hood meets the body. Lift up on the inner lever.

  4. 4

Lift up on the edge of the hood while holding the inner lever in place. When the hood is up, find the hood prop and raise it, setting its tip in the hood-prop mount on the hood, to hold the hood up while you work in the engine bay.

I have a 1990 190e , I cannot get the hood to release. I have pulled the cord but it does not pop up to pull the tab and open the hood, it seems like it is stuck or jammed.. any suggestions as to how to...

If you cannot get the hood to release, find where the wire is and pull with a vice grip. If this does not work, then cut the latch off using a sawzall between the hood and the bumper, if that makes sense.

Then, all you have to replace is the latch and cable once it is opened, and nobody would be any wiser.

Good luck on this repair.

The hood will not release to open. I released the inside lever & the hood poped up a little. In the grill there is a plastic "T" lever that you pull to release the hood. I have pulled it hard & the...

So I gather that the release inside the car has release the hood's primary catch, but the T handle is not release the secondary catch to allow the hood to fully open.

If this is the case, take some lithium grease or WD-40 (lithium grease is much better and lasts much longer) and spray it onto the catch assembly.

Try pulling on the T handle some more after a few minutes of the grease soaking in and see of that releases.

If that doesn't work, then take a long flat screw driver and press it against the catch gently hit the screw driver with a hammer (you should be trying to push the catch towards the driver's side of the car)
You may need someone to be pulling on the T handle as you hit the catch with a hammer. I actually had to do this with a jetta before....
