The blower motor on my 1996 mercedes s320 will not work, the low speed fan that comes on with the ignition does come on

Yes,could be your blower resistor is bad,it's right next to the blower motor,it controls the blower motor speed,easy to replace. Duralast Blower Motor Resistor Just took a guess at the model type since you didn't state,wow,high dollar price,guess it comes with a Mercedes,paid about 18 bucks for mine on my 85 Nissan.

My 97 S320 does the same. I can tell when it is going to stay running. With the car running, for some reason I lose my ability to change fan speed or even get it to shut off with the controls. When I turn the car off, sure enough, the fan keeps running. It doesn't do this all the time. Is there a relay that could be sticking intermittently?

must remove the blower motor and you can see electronic blower regulated fitted in to the motor housing.

replace the the blower motor resistor located next to the blower motor. this controls the blower speeds

on a right hand drive vehicle you will find the blower motor just under the cubbie hole.Slide the 2 levers and the cover comes off.Use a spline to remove the motor. You must change the brushes and please make sure the replacement brushes are of the same grain else you will damage the commutator

I ahve 3 error messages on my S320 (ESP, BAS & an message that says I am going to die if I don't go to workshop. These come on at the same time. They come on after a shudder in the suspension that is noticable at very low speed & at 55ish mph. What could this be. IT has been back 3 times workshop already?

If the fuse is blown for the blower then there is a short, that is not an answer, go to the blower and check to see that the blower motor connector has 12 volts to it when the blower is set to high speed on control, if it does then u need a new blower motor, if it doesn't then the control switch is defective or the blower motor speed control resistor is defective.

either blower motor resistor or blower selector switch.could be selector switch because if resistor was gone you should still have either hi or low fan speeds.
