P1361: top dead center sensor circuit. The crank positioning sensor and cam positioning sensor are the two components that you want to look at. One of the two parts are cracked and the water is causing a short. Once it dries out, it should go back to normal but you do need to replace the faulty sensor/s.

TDC is big time bad, idle speeds are the last to work right
on any EFI engine... its a side show.

Start up at 3000 rpm and wont come back down

if the check engine light is on.. go to auto zone or advanced and get the code.. that will most likely tell you the problem.. sounds like your throttle position sensor is bad.. but its hard to diagnose a 3000 rpm start up with out being there.. but most likely tps is the problem

Error code po0117. Vw beetle

16501/P0117 - Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62): Signal too Low Possible Symptoms
  • Difficulties with starting a cold engine.
  • Starting the engine when engine is warmish or warm, idle rpm immediately is 1200 - 3000 rpm.
  • RPM at idle is irregular.
  • With all engine temperatures seldom idle rpm will vary between 900 - 1000 rpm.
  • With engine warm (90 °C) the engine temperature suddenly drops (70 °C) and slowly comes back to 90 °C.
  • Bad acceleration during warming up.
    • Diesel: an indication is extreme long time burning time of the glow indication light.
Possible Causes
  • The electrical signal coming from G62 is too low
  • Wiring and/or connections faulty (short circuit?)
  • Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62) faulty
Possible Solutions
  • Check wiring and connections
  • Check / Replace Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (G62)
Special Notes
  • In MY 1995-2002 (?) in Europe at VW-cars the G2/G62 had the bad reputation of breaking down often. The default G2/G62 is black and all replacements are green.

In park i can put to the floor and it will go to around 3ooo rpm and drop to 500 or so and do it continuously up down up down,,,and also when in drive it start fine goes fine till ya punch it and it just...

First not to be hurtfull but find a good repair facility and scan for codes FIRST. Then have all code related issues PROPERLY repaired. You can not pass inspection in most states with check eng light on. Again it comes on for a reason. I hope you replaced the 02 sensor IF that was an issue. Second you have now gotten another or multiple things to troubleshoot. There is no excuse for driving with check eng light on and hopefully no harm done. The 02 sensor will hurt your mileage and a rich condition will ruin your converter and cost you

High rpm's and not going fast

the very 1st thing u do is have the system tested for the trouble code that is stored whenever the check eng light comes on, but most likely u need a transmission speed sensor, u have lost Over Drive by the sound of it.

Ngine over fueling at all rpm, rough idle, heavy fuel consumption

if the car is stock i would replace your oxygen sensor. you may also need to clean out the MAF sensor.

Loss of power feels like it has a governor on. 3000 rpm and only

the service engine light means one of the sensors are bad or the idle control or even the throttle position sensor , these will cause your symptoms
you will need to check the code which will tell you exactly what has went bad and needs to be replaced
hope this info is worth a fixya , since everything else hurts our scoring , and if you need any more help I'll be glad to help
