I have a 2007 vw golf 1.4 I have a problem etc that when I sometimes turn the key to start the tripometer, temperature and clock all go blank, and i try to start and theres absolutely nothing, when i get...

hello ive got a problem my golf 1.4 16v petrol year 2000when it reaches 2700 revs it cuts out and restarts like I basicly turned the ignition off and on again althought no other elictrical part of the car goes off stationary or driving it makes no differenceif im driveing along at 2700 revs just before it cuts out and drop a gear it lets me go past 2700 thus i can wind my way throught the gears past 3000 revs
as soon as i slow down around 3000-2700 revs it cuts bk to doing the same on off on offthe radio-lights-windscreen wipers don't slow/shut off while this occurs and nor does anything elseoccasional when this random cutting out /restarting happens the oil light-pump stops working /light comes on and the rev counter stops working so i have to pull over and restart the car.its just passed a MOT with no faults and wonderfully for me the fault didn't happen that day ....ive changes plugs wires checked fuel pump-air pressure and i cant find anything
pls could you give me some hints etc of what might be the issue

Vw polo 1997 999cc often idles eratically

First- lets change engine coolant sensor/ECT/ and you will be very surprised.Black head with four pins.Be very carefull when change it because there is pressure into coolant system.First-open slowly the cap of engine coolant tank. Then tighten again to safe coolant.Unplug the sensor, remove the pin and pull out the sensor. If the "O"ring/old one/ is still inside-take it out.

Vw polo maintains engine revs when foot is off the accelerator.

You need to check the cable the runs from the gas pedal to the engine, it might be rusty and need some drops of penetrating oil at the point it meets with the engine accelerator valve.

My vw polo keeps cutting out. when it slows down

try cleaning your battery terminals and tightening them. if that doesnt solve the problem your battery or alternator may be dying, some auto parts stores will do a charging system check for free that will tell you if one or the other is bad.

When in neutral or low rev occassionaly cuts out

it's your idle air valve located on the backside of your intake round with two large lines going to it make sure you check junkyards first for one because you'll faint when you hear the price at the parts counter.

VW Polo: 1999

not being smart but you are being fed porkies.. it sounds like you are drawing air somewhere or you have throttle body problems. you will need to get it on to a diagnostic computer to tell.
