Hello. I just had my rad replaced after a horrendous bout of antifreeze bursting out of a crack. After leaving the shop noticed my headlights werent on. I went back to the shop and they replaced the fuses for both lights (#15 fuses i believe). After returning home, shutting the car off, as well as the headlight switch i noticed my passeger side headlight was still on (it was night time, easily noticable). I have tried everything from disconnecting and reconnecting the headlight, to taking out the fuses in hopes that my battery wouldnt die. Woke up the next morning and behold!! my battery was dead. Now the battery is completely shot, headlight problem still not fixed and im not sure where else to go from here to find out what the problem is. any info would surely help. Thanks!!
U may hav a gem module that is bad-u need a service manual to locate--or wiring has bin messed with--library sec629 has mechmanuals for all makes-----each nite disconnect batt or buy a shutoff post in a napa store
I'm not a mechanic, and not familier with the altima.
Sounds like the headlights got shorted out (fuses blew) you need to find out why.. Wires pinched while worked on at rad shop? or antifreeze got into the under hood electrical box.? It's possible there is still antifreeze in the box causing a problem with power relay to head light. (stays on) Headlights usually are operated with relays to handle the high wattage. Seems unlikely to be pinched wires as you'd expect it to not work at all, but I don't rule it out as I don't know how it's wired. NOT sure if this is best idea, but, If you wash out the electrical box with fresh water, WITH NO BATTERY ATTACHED, you'll need to DRY IT THOROUGHLY before attaching any power. Hair dryer?. Could try blowing box out with high pressure air, may be better idea. Good luck.
You need to return to the shop that did your radiator or a better shop to find any wires that they might have pinched, that would blow the fuses.

when you got the spark chances are you shorted the receptacle for the bulb on the low side you should check the fuse for this . the drivers side low beam worked before so i would say you blew the fuse. on the passenger side check for broken ,frayed ,or loose wires in the light harness and the plugs them selves chances are you will find a short in them. please rate this solution

starter possibly going bad
SOURCE: my wife owns a 1997 nissan pathfinder and the passenger side headlight went out,
there is a short somewhere and check all the connections and you could have actually gotten a bad bulb sometimes the manufacturer messes up

Your year Pathfinder, as mine, had a slew of bad head light switches. The headlight switches caused a slurry of intermediate nightmares for a lot of customers. Many complaints included:
1. My head lights sometimes turn off upon switching from low to high beams.
2. My lights turn completely off when I switch to high beams.
3. My lights flicker when I switch from high to low beams and vise verse.
4. My lights sometime wont turn on at all.
5. My lights go on and off on bumpy roads.
6. My lights sometimes come on by themselves.
All of these different but similar complaints contribute to the infamous head light switch. There has even been reports of continuous dead battery's due to the head light switch turning the lights on and off intermittently and eventually deadening the battery.
The light switch is relatively easy to replace. Simply remove the the two upper and lower steering column covers, disconnect the two wiring harness bulk head connectors, a couple screws and wallah.
Remember your safety and always dissconncet your your battey upon electrical repairs.
Just last week I bought a new head light switch for about $70.00. I would highly recommend buying a new head headlight switch and not buying a junkyard special. You will likely be buying another faulty switch.
Good luck!!!!

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. Since ive come to the conclusion it has something to do with the wiring, im taking it this weekend to pep boys, they do an electrical diagnostics test for 45$, my best best rather than someone messing up something else!! Again Thanks!!
this diagnostic test may just be for batt--alternator --a private mechanic that has xperienc in the area may be bettr
