The Security features are installed into the ecu at the dealership. you can unplug the battery for 15 minutes and then re connect them this resets sensor codes and such but im pretty sure that your problem will still persist. i know for a fact that even if you replaced the ecu the security features will not let the vehicle run without pairing the new ecu with the existing security features.
Hi there: The PCM (also called ECU or ECM) is located under the pollen filter housing in the passenger corner of the engine compartment.
I suggest scanned the PCM in order to know fault codes stored there.
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.
If the E.C.U. is faulty it is possible that injectors will be inopeative. The E.C.U. may also be responable for any degree of icorrect fueling. Before suspecting the E.C.U. for fueling problems, however, all other likely components should be proven good.
Hi, usually the problem is the` reader` which is the device which takes the information from the ignition key and sends it to the ecu. This reader is situated in the steering columm ( not sure exactly where ). Have the key checked as the code in the key could be currupted. Hope i have shed some light on this problem. First thing to determine is if your ecu module ,has the same hardware, software references as your original ecu.If this is the case, and you havent changed anything else, like keys or ignition switch or immobilizer, then it should start!
If ecu doest have same references, you need to have it coded by the dealer,so that it works with your immobilizer.
On 2.5L and 3.0L X-Types in the vin range C00294 to C91735 there was software issue on the engine ECU which caused misfires/hesitation when cold. this could be repaired by re-configuring the ECU with a software download. There was a Jaguar technical bulletin for this issue, the bulletin number was A303-05.
I recently had the same code come up when my car failed to start in the mornings. It also said that the crank sensor had failed. Having changed the sensor and still not starting it went back to the garage. According to a Jag enineer the ECU will fail to register if it gets less than 12v from the battery, this will also throw up several codes for the diagostics. Solution, change the battery. Problem solved.
