2000 Hyundai Elantra dies while idling

sounds like a fuel issue / carb or fuel injection problem.

check for fuel, in fuel rail,theres a bleeder valce. turn key on and push bleeder valve if steady stream of fuel comes out, check for spark at spark plugs. go from there

difficult to say here ,sounds like a sensor but what one is the thing,this could be anything from low fuel pressure to a loose inlet manifold so for this i would suggest that you ask a local mechanic to have a look .Yes i know its frustrating not to be able to do it yourself but this is a alectronic problem associated with the fuel system and without any knowledge or the correct dealer software you up the proverbial creek without a paddle here

Check under hood for a vacuum hose off,broken, cracked or loose at a connector.

Did you check the transmission fluid level? If necessary, add fluid. However you probably have a more serious problem. Take the car to a qualified transmission mechanic.

IT could be the forward band or reverse band or pump in the g/box are holding on instead of breaking drive at 600 rpm,as its like putting in the clutch on a manual box it frees off the drive.
But you could check the Actuator but i would say check the bands by when stopping slip into N if idles ok then its the box Sorry

your charging system is not working,so your car is working only on batt. power,when batt.gets weak car will cut off! good chance alter nator is defective! check alt.elect. connections at alt,if con.are good its alt.
