No electrical power a3 2001 tdi sport

I parked up at home after a great 1hr 30min drive in the rain! car running great without fault. I turn engine off collect everything from the car which took a few minutes. and noticed that there was no power, the remote key wouldn't blip and there was no lights (inside or out) no dash warning lights to give me any clue. Any ideas??

I would start with a jump start or hooking a jump box to it. If everything comes alive, replace the battery and get the charging system checked. If that doesn't work, there are a number of different items. Fuses, ignition switch, main ecm relay, all are viable culprits.

Hopefully it's the one of the engine bays communal earths or the battery connections.
Remove them (don't lose any cables) clean with sand/emery paper, replace and seal with grease or vasaline to prevent future occurrence.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Major electrical problem? No previous warning.

We had this same problem after my brother hooked up jumper cables backwards.
We had to replace computer boaord under the driver side dash. I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. lol But someone who can hooked that up and get the codes can tell you if it needs to be replaced. I found mine on ebay....they are Hard to find!

Hi i have a 2005 model 1.4 polo TDI, and sometimes when i'm driving it would cut power but still drives not with the initial power it had before, what could be the problem?

You need to have a Diagnostic test done by plugging in a fault code reader to determine the cause of the fault. The car will be going into limp home mode ie engine management light on it reduces engine performance. if you have a yellow spanner symbol then the likely cause is due to one of the engine electrical components such as the egr valve solenoid or maff (air flow meter)

no,without being offensive, you played with the remote key, without knowing,in your pocket, pushing against something,in your coat, someone sit on it.....but the rain sensor really,is out of power with the key off,so can never give trouble, powered over the 51 by positive, and signaled on the negative,so never with power off, there can be a disturbance....

On a jetta 2006 all the lights on the dash are flashing PNDR ( park, drive and reverse lights) what does that mean. Does it mean the km on the car have been rolled back ?

No, this is a warning signal that notifies you that the gearbox is defective, has been put in Limp Mode (an emergency mode designed to keep the gearbox running at all costs as to allow you to reach home) and it will have to be serviced immediately. It will be very expensive.

This is the correct solution..........replace the solenoid valve N239 as the electrical connection is affected by dampness. What happens is that the EGR valve is jammed open by the solenoid and this allows oxygen starved air into the cylinders (exhaust gas) and combustion is poor.
Quick fix is to disconnect the vac hose to the EGR actuator and block the end with a self tapping screw or pencil. This will work for sure....

your car went in to limp mode...it sounds like you have got a intermitant fault with the throttle pedal.get the fault read to confirm.you can drive it but it may reoccur...you are doing no damage

My beetle just engine just went off while driving

Make sure the battery terminals are secure. Other than that I would guess there is an electrcal fault on the vehicle. I am not familiar with the beetle but think if I were driving your vehicle I would make sure all electrical connections were as they should be.
