Yes Derric,
Most of the time it will be the cam sensor causing the problem.
Yes.
the engine computer does not know when to fire the plugs and injectors.
Replaced cam pos sensor, same code. Po340 comes up. Have rpm on scanner during cranking. So crank sensor is reading. good spark at plugs. When motor cranks sounds like it saying I don't wanna. On dash it indicator comes up with throttle control sign, I believe that's what it was called. Checking compression tomorrow morning.

Here's a link Derrick to your code. P0340 OBD II Trouble Code

check the asd relay swap it with another like it. also check fuses and old car alarm if it had one.the cam and crank sensor will not affect fuel pressure. the cam sensor should not stop this car from starting. but the crank sensor will. good luck.
SOURCE: Fuel pressure intermittently drops causing sputter and die.
check for 12v constant at your fuel pump if you are not getting that replace your relay.
if you are getting 12 volts at your fuel pump the fuel pump is possible to run tuel it gets warm then shut down to a lower rpm I would then replace the fuel pump

Get a can of CRC Mass Air Flow sensor or Electronic Parts cleaner.
Disconnect the connector for the Injector Pump and clean out the contacts.
Use a small needle nose to PUSH the contacts into the connector.
Use the reset of the can to clean out other electrical connector.
Use OBDII scanner or disconnect negative battery cable to reset code.

Replaced crank sensor, get same code po340, have rpm n monitor during cranking, so i have crank sense. ave good spark and fuel pressure. electronic throttle light is on. Littl confused on this, will be doing compression test tomorrow. When engine cranks it sounds like it is saying I don't wanna! was told possibly broken valve spring? Any thoughts?
