2001 mitsubishi galant shaking while in idle

This is a typical vacuum leak. Check all the hoses. If none are sucking air then use WD40 and spray around the intake manifold. If the engine runs better or changes how it runs then look at replacing the intake manifold gasket.

2001 galant starts but wont idle. It runs smooth as long as i hold the gas,but just wont idle. No service lights,so cant dianose problem. The car did sit for about a month while i was outta town. ran fine...

How do you fix the idling in a 2001 Mitsubishi Galant?

An IAC is usually responsible for idling problems expecially if they are idling low...however; further testing is necessary to determine that.

1997 Mitsubishi Galant Died

Sounds like the EGR valve is bad and is stuck in the open position.Just replace that and you should also check the catalytic converter.

My galant emits smoke when going uphill.

I had the same problem with my 1995 galant, and I changed my idle sensor. note!!! you have to have it adjusted also.

Check your motor mounts, recently engine idled rough when in nuetral or stopped in drive, also jerked when put in reverse. took it to a automotive shop and found motor mounts cracked. Runs great now

If the light is on it needs a good sevice, also may need a cleaner through the fuel, for the cleaner to work give her a lil service
