I have a 2006 chevy malibu lt my power window stop working....only one works which is the passenger side the front one...sometimes all the windows work but now it been a while only one works now...I dont think it is the fuse or control panel...please help....
In my 2012 Malibu LT, all windows worked except the drivers door window, so I figured it couldn't be a fuse. Replaced the switch, same issue. Pulled the door panel and checked wiring and connections, couldn't find an issue. Thought it was regulator motor. I eventually realized that my sunroof was not working either, so I started looking at fuses. Fuses under the hood looked good. Fuses in the trunk looked good. Fuses on passenger side of console looked good, but I found that the 10 amp fuse for (roof/heated seats) was put in a "not used" slot right next to its slot. I moved the fuse to where it was supposed to be and the sunroof worked. And mysteriously so did the drivers side window. So the drivers side window is fused separately from the other 3. Took me almost a whole day of Google searching, head scratching, inspecting, driving around in the rain with my window all the way down to get parts all while cursing to find out that it was a 10 amp fuse, with no indication that it was for the drivers side window, in the wrong place.
Chevrolet Malibu 2007 The same problem,
You might want to check your ground wires and make sure there all tight

I was told its a common defect...just by the way it was made. I took the passanger panel control off and put it on the driver side and it worked...the other dude is right 200-300 at a dealer. I saw one on ebay for 110.00 so im gonna go that route.

Hi: If other windows work then it can't be FUSE. I would take off the door panel and use a 12 volt test light to see if power is getting to the front passenger door motor (make sure power control switches are attached, key on position). If power... then hot wire the window motor using a 12 volt battery to see if it works. Hook + and - wires from battery directly to the motor, reverse them to make motor go up or down. To remove door panel pop electrical control up for the front and lift out then disconnect plugs. Use 7 MM socket to remove 2 screws under where handle is located. A Phillips screw driver removes the door handle cover. Pull on door panel to pop off, whole process takes under 5 minutes. If motor works and no power to motor from drivers door then there is a broken wire in circuit or the drivers control unit is not working. NEXT... disconnect drivers door control unit and check to see which brass terminals have power (key on position), note them... then put 12 volt power from battery to a terminal from plug that was attached to the passenger door motor, using your test light check drivers door plug to see if there is power to any terminals you DID NOT MARK as having power, if power then you know the circuit is good, do this with both wires from passenger door motor plug. (A circuit tester can be used as well). If continuity then the problem is in the drivers door control unit. If no continuity then a break in the wires to the passenger door, breaks usually occur between the body A pillar and where the wires go to the door as it flexes there every time the door opens or closes. Hope this helps, rate so I know if it is worth my while helping out on here.. thanks...

If it does not make any noise, or sound like its getting any power, most likely its the switch.

Check for door ajar switches not making contact.

Just did this procedure I got from coloradofans.com forums:
"any type of power/voltage change
seems to trigger this issue
The most common symptom is power
locks fail and only the driver window quits, however that is on the
extended cab.
Steps to fix and it works every time.
take
door panel off driver's door
Disconnect the wiring attached to window
and power lock control unit
disconnect battery cables
connect
the negative to the positive cable(((NO BATTERY CONNECTED)))
This
will act to short residual voltage in the system
5 minutes later
place
the key in the ignition and turn to the run position
connect the
wiring to the window/lock controller
connect the negative cable to
the battery
then the positive
open drivers side door
turn key
to the off position((do not remove yet)) you should get a series of
dings through speakers telling you the key is still in the ignition
once
it begins dinging pull the key out and you should hear the door lock
solenoids trigger and the windows should work." - Coloradofans.com forums
