Toyota Corolla 2003 1.4 petrol panel shines light bulb labeled p / s retracted while not feel any problem, some time ago a few times when I wanted to turn to the left or right wheel is braked firmly for a few seconds and relax, this is my happened several times please help
What I think Bank 1 usually refers to the O2 sensor before catalytic converter. I have been told in the past many thing can set it off. I have gotten them before for O2 sensor and took my negative battery cable off the batter and it cleared the code. Sometimes it comes back sometimes not. I did find some info. https://www.yourmechanic.com/article/p0240-obd-ii-trouble-code-turbocharger-boost-sensor-b-circuit-range-performance-by-jay-safford
One thing I need to add if you pull the cable off the battery and your radio has a antitheft program in it you will have to provide a code to get your radio working again.
OK, If I understand your question correctly, Your Check Engine light is coming on and you are getting a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0240 and we are talking about a 2000 Honda Civic DX with a 1.6L engine? If this is not correct, please let me know.
DTC P0240 is not a valid code for the vehicle listed above. Are you sure we are not talking about DTC P0420? If this is the case, then your catalytic converter is not working and most likely will need to be replaced. If you previously had fuel system problems, this is what most likely destroyed your catalytic converter - especially if the vehicle was driven fo some time with the fuel system problem. It is VERY common for this code to come up after other engine performance problems have been repaired. The reason for this is because the computer will not run the catalyst monitor if there are other problems in the ignition or fuel systems. So as long as these other problems exist, the computer has no idea what the condition of the catalyst is. Once the other problems are fixed, then the catalyst moitor will run. If the computer finds that the catalyst has been damaged and is not performing as designed, it will set DTC P0420.
If you mean the check engine light, if it is blinking, you should not drive the car very far because your catalytic converter will be damaged. If it is on steady or comes on once in a while, you can drive it without worry, just get the fault codes scanned at a place like Autozone and get a report of the results.
P0240 code is related to faulty catalytic converter. It has to be checked and replaced. Located at the front of your exhaust line.To get this part you can get it from the online stores dealing with honda car parts. click on the link below to order the part if required.--------------- http://www.carpartswholesale.com/wholesale/catalytic/honda-accord-9437852.html

If the code was (catalytic converter below threshhold) its more tlikely that you will not need to replaced the catalytic conv.but is a possiblity. First check your o2 sensors for proper function. These are electrical units in your exhaust that read your air/fuel ratio and are a lot more likely to malfunction.
Hello. Welcome to FixYa. Please allow us to assist you...
YES! The P-2716 code IS a common problem.
I am glad that you did not pay for the repair, because the repair is a new computer.
Fortunatly for you, there is a technical service bulleting from Toyota; they will replace it for FREE!
Call your nearest Toyota dealership, tell them you have a P-2716, and make an appointment. They will replace the Electronic Control Unit (the computer) at no charge.
in reality nothings happen, and your saying what do you need to do so you will not encounter this problem again well honestly you cant depend on life on catalytic so i suggest to do your general tune up like changing spark plug, wires, check timing, fuel filter, oil change the way they should be change so it helps the engine burn near stoichiometry because during the oxidation happening in your catalytic if your engine rich or lean or misfiring it could cause a defective catalytic converter.
