The nite time driving lights on my 1999 Olds Intrigue have always come on automatically until now. Only the headlights come on. To get the dash lights, tail lights and turn lights to come on (at night) I have to do it manually.I bought the car in 2000.This is the first time I've had this problem.

SOURCE: Overheating Intrigue

Check your coolant level and see if it is down. If you have checked heads you will notice your engine oil beginning to turn milky white.

If you want a more complete check for cracked heads, plug all spark plugs, and if you can get a coolant pressure tester, pump it up to 12 or 13 psi and then crank the engine over. Watch for water to spray out of one of the cylinders.

SOURCE: 2000 alero flashing dash lights

you are going to have to take the dash apart. You probably have a short in the connector where it comes into the gauge cluster

SOURCE: P102 Service Engine light warning came up.

MAP and O2 sensor are two separate items. MAP, reads manifold pressure, O2 reads exhaust content. O2 sensor often is a false reading not to be ignored but should not be immediately changed till other items are corrected. MAP sensor is often mounted on the firewall and can be identified as having an electrical connector and a vacuum hose attached to it. (ask a parts house to show you one and it will make finding it easier) Check for vacuum leaks in the hose and make sure the hose is well connected at both ends before changing the sensor. You may also want to clean the Mass Air Flow sensor located between the air duct hoses running from the air filter box to the throttle body. There are two small wires inside it that can be cleaned carefully with carb cleaner and a Q tip.If dirty, it can cause idle fluctuations or stalling.

There is a control module. It's usually under the dash around the steering column.I would'nt be too concerned about replacing it based on the age of the vehicle

Could be a relay or a faulty switch. Have you checked the circuit coming out of the headlight switch to see if it is powered with the switch in the off position ?

Check the coolant lines for any leaks or Clogging. Maybe your transmission doesn't get enough coolant .

Your alternator may be going bad. Test your battery while it is running with a voltmeter. It should be above 13.0 volts. I would check that first.
