MAKE SURE THE INDICATOR STOCK IS IN THE OFF POSITION WHEN YOU LEAVE THE VEHICLE AS THIS KEEPS THE PARKING LIGHTS ON IN THAT DIRECTION.GOOD LUCK.

I too own a 2002 Passat and it is doing the same thing. When I lock it with the remote the exterior lights keep flashing. I have no idea how to get the lights to stop flashing. Just curious, did anyone figure out how to fix this? Oh yea, the indicator stock is in the off position when I leave the car.

Front door locks on a 99 passat

You have the wrong KEY if it won't turn any locks.
You can use the KEY fob from another Passat.
The one you have was most likey not the original
and the car was reprogrammed to except that FOB.

The Fuse panel Is inside the DRIVES side.
Open the Driver door. Look at the side of the DAShboard.
THat Giant "B" Shapped plastic cover pops off.

Check the fuses...IF any are broken, black or no good.
REplace them

Hope this helps
