The lift gate window wont open

Cant find a part for 2012 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo. The lift gate window has an actuator that triggers the window to unlock. It wont work. I took off the actuator part to press the lever to open the window. the part number is XH1230259262572, or should I just buy a whole new window latch? It's not cover under warranty after 16,000 miles. My jeep only has 24,000 miles...

Did you ask the dealer's Service dept to run your VIN number to see if there are any TSB's on your vehicle for this or any other problems.
Chrysler sends out Technical service bulletins to dealers, Where they found a problem with a part, Then sends dealers the info on repairs that will be covered.

SOURCE: 1994 Jeep Grand cherokee rear lift gate

Well My 94 Jeep Grand Cherokee had the same problem and we had to just cut into the lift gate panel from the inside. It required cutting plastic but with a 94 looks arent everything and a working lift gate was worth it. But then we pealed back this black plastic mat under the panel and lifted up on the release bar(verticle bar that lifts the latch) and once we got it open we adjusted a little clamp that had slipped. Dont adjust it too much or when u lock it it wont lock! But sorry i dont know the name of the parts. But then u can screw the panel back in and it wont look to bad besides some cuts.

Back gate wont open on my 2008 jeep grand cherokee laredo

Take off the inside rear panel to access the latch. You can manually open it from there.

I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee that leftgete is not opening what can be the problem .."? The motor is working but is not lefting up.

Attempt to open manually. With the gate open use the remote to close. If the support pistons lose their gas pressure the gate will close automatically but not have the force to open Replace the gas piston on the passenger side.

If something is blocking the sensor will also prohibit the lift gate from opening.

Hope this helps?.

The handle broke off on my 2003 jeep grand cherokee laredo liftgate. how can i open it now? i can't find anything on the inside in the back and my tail light is out.

You will need to remove the interior panle from the loft gate to axess the latch
there is 4 screws along the bottom of the panle to remove then carfuly pull the panle away from the lift gate there is plastic clips that hold the panle to the gate these may need to be replaced when re installing the panle they can be purchased at the jeep dealer.
now look into the lift gate and you will see where the handle rod conects to the latch lift on this rod and the gate will open
to replace the handle remove the 2 10 mm bolts and disconect the rod from the latch install the new handle and rod to the latch install the 2 10 mm bolts. install the panle and 4 screws
this should cover it

Lift door on back will not unlock. Grinding noise

sounds like the door lock actuator is frozen and wont unlock, you will have to get the gate open to replace the actuator, you will have to remove the paneling to get inside the door, then dissconnect linkage to actuator, then make sure linkage to latch is free and not frozen, then double check the actuator while dissconnected, hit the lock/unlock button and see if the actuator moves it should not but will make alot of noise.

Liftgate and glass doesn't open

you have to get in behind tailgate interior trim and pull handle lever as this has come off from the actuator, once tailgate is opened remove panel and relocate actuator bar and you might want to cable tie bar in place for the future

Display console

There is a switch in the lift gate latch that closes when the gate is closed and turns off the light, this switch is defective, replace it and the light will go off.
