Replaced fuel lines and filter on a 2003 chevy silverado but it starts to leak fuel from a little black valve along the top of the frame rail

For wheel works but will not turn on due to ground wire problem. Can't find the wire

Did you check the ground-to-frame at the fuel tank? Even though it's new it could be bad and did you check the fuel pump relay in the fuse box under the hood

Before you drop tank again, check fuses & relay.then disconnect fuel line @ filter turn key to on position should hear fuel pump run and get gas stream out of line. if no flow from line new pump faulty be sure & remove negative battery cable first good luck.

I have a 97 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 350 vortech, what wrench size do u use to take off my fuel filter ,that is the line going in.?

it just a basic tools. find the filter and see what size it is.
crawl under the truck on the driver's side, follow the fuel line from the fuel tank to the filter(shape:cylindrical).
make sure the line has no pressure. you should pull the fuse for the "fuel pump" relay, then start the engine and allow it to stall.

How to replace injectors on 305 1997 Chevy pickup vortech?

disconnect battery, disconnect fuse pump fuse, locate fuel rail where the fuel injectors are connected to, then unmount the fuel rail, then disconnect wire to injector, then wiggle it out of the rail, then do the same for the other injectors. to install simply follow reverse order.

Have a 91 chevy silverado after start up it shut down the injectors and stalls replaced fule pump, filter ,regulator

2 possible problems the easiest is an inline fuel filter on the frame rail below the drivers seat. Second the mapping sensor may be shot it monitors several fuel and ignition functions.

My 2001 chevy silverado is having trouble starting i changed the fule filter and i can hear my fule pump runing but it takes right at 3 cranks for it to start.. It would try to start but just die on me......

Sounds like it. On new automobiles the fuel pump is in the gas tank, cools the pump, but you can disconnect the pump and put on an outside pump instead of pulling the gas tank and replacing gas pump and tank. Leave old pump in gas tank.

I have a 97 chevy 5.7 vortech wont start what could be the problem. getting gas and spark but still wont start

Check your fuel pump they usually go out after 10 yrs or so. Also check your fuel filter. Both easy fixes.

Good Luck!

I have a 98 chevy silverado 1/2 ton 5.7L motor. My truck will only start after I turn the key over and over to allow the fuel pump to run. I sometimes do it 10 times before it actually starts. After its on...

The problem may be that it has 55 psi instead of 60-65. Could be the fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump itself. I have read that these engines need 60 psi minimum to start reliably. Also with the engine off, look down the throttle body with a flashlight and see if the intake appears wet inside, indicating leaking central injectors. There is an upgraded injector assembly available with pressure regulator at autoparts stores. Requires 4-5 hours to replace with experienced mechanical skill level. Would definately upgrade if the pressure regulator needs replaced anyway.
