h) Engine Oil Replacement Reminder
Light (for vehicles sold in U.S.A.)
This light reminds you when to replace
the engine oil.
This light will come on when the ignition
key is turned to “ON” and will go off after
about a few seconds.
When you drive for about 8000 km (5000
miles) after the engine oil replacement,
this light illuminates for about 3 seconds
and then flashes for about 12 seconds
with the ignition key turned to “ON” position.
If you continue driving without the
engine oil replacement, and if the driving
range exceeds 12000 km (7500 miles), the
light will come on after the ignition key is
turned to “ON” position. The light will remain
on thereafter.
If the light is flashing, we recommend that
you replace the engine oil at an early
opportunity depending on the driving and
road condition. If the light comes on, replace
it as soon as possible.
You need to reset the light after the engine
oil replacement. Reset the light by
following the procedure below:
1. Turn the ignition key to the “OFF” position
with the odometer reading shown.
(For details, see “Odometer and two
trip meters” on page 136 in this Section.)
2. Turn the ignition key to the “ON” position
while holding down the trip meter
reset button.
Hold down the button until the light goes
off. Before the light goes off, it illuminates
for 3 seconds, flashes for 2 seconds and
illuminates for 1 second.
If the system fails to reset, the light will
remain flashing.

Why does my toyota sienna flash the maintenance required light six times after an oil change?

Start when the battery load voltage change ... the lack of instantaneous voltage, all right, normal.

Looking at purchasing a 2004 Toyota4Runner V-6 with 99,500 miles, looks good under engine, any thing we need to look at specifically, timing chain? For our 16 year old newly minted driver.

Id get the VIN and go to the Toyota Owners website and see if the previous owner kept up with regularly scheduled maintenance. Then id have the brake calipers checked for frozen pistons....4runners are notorious for that. Id also have the actuator checked on the 4Wheel drive system....this switches it from 4High to 4Low.

The V6's timing chain doesnt get replaced. Only the V8's timing belt.

Good luck!

Maintenance Light goes on/off/on

When your vehicle is coming up for due maintenance, the light will flash for a few when you start the car. When the time for scheduled maintenance is due, the light will remain on constantly. It's just routine maintenance, but if you haven't done it, that's your reminder. Then, you or your mechanic will have to reset that maintenance reminder light.

My 2000 T 4Runner has 200,000 miles on it. Should I start looking for a newer one? It still runs very well, although it's had a few problems. Is $16,000 a good price for 2004 4Runner V8 with 90,000 miles...

It is really your choice but your 4Runner is capable of allot more miles with good maintenance. If your looking to save money the V8 4Runner in not a good option.

Why does my maintenance required light flashes 6 times after starting my 2005 toyota corolla?

its to let you know that its almost time to change your oil. it will stay on when the car has reached 5000 miles since your last oil change or since the light was last reset.

When you use a turn signal both flash at the same time on a 2004 Toyota 4-Runner.

Have you recently changed any bulbs? if so, start there. If not work the 4 way flasher button a couple times and try the t/signals again. I've seen those stick 1/2 on causing this type of problem.

Toyota 4 Runner maintenance at 60,000 miles

The time on yours more than miles affects the coolant, it should be changed every 5 years or 100,000 miles.
