I have a 2001 Chevy Cavalier and just recently my cd player keeps saying error. even when there isn't a cd in it. and it keeps making the noise that there is a cd inside even when the car is turned off. where can i find the cd cleaner? and will it work?

turn on heater to warm up player it works for me I have a 2001 it will only play when it is warm

Most radios and cd players in cars require a code to get them operating again after they have been disconnected from the battery for an extended time. Hopefully a dealer could help you locate the code for that model.

From Hyundai Owners Manual: Er6 - DISC ERROR - CHECK IF THE DISC IS INSERTED CORRECTLY IN THE CD PLAYER.
MAKE SURE THE DISC IS NOT SCRATCHED OR DAMAGED.

Error 6 means your laser isn't reading disc... needs replaced pick up laser. I would try first to insert a clean up CD and test your CD Player with an original CD, if the problem persist, you have to go to fix it to a specialist.

might one try running a cd cleaner throught it

is it coming from top of motor? if yes then you may need your lifters ajusted or replace with other parts

the stock radio is in need of replacement.General motors radios go out often I have replaced alot of them.

Sorry bud, replace the cd player.... it's probably worn out. Check out the JVC, Sony, Pioneer and Alpine units for quality at affordable prices. HarmanKardon is better - except on your wallet :P

the cd sensor light which spots the cd is dirty run a cd cleaner through it should fix it

This happened to me I have a 2001 cavalier I took out the fuse turned the car off that popped the fuse back in at it restarted it and it was all good try that
