If your stateside the CPS is on the drivers side of the bell housing at approx 11 oclock. They have 1 or 2 bolts securing them.assuming its the 4 litre motor. If its right hand drive the CPS is on the fornt seat passengers side.
Your shutting off problem does sound like it might be the crank position sensor, which is bolted on the back, upper left side of the 4.0 motor, on the bellhousing. Easy enough to change with some really long extensions and small hands.
This is beginning to look like a pervasive problem not unique to your
vehicle. It would be interesting to learn exactly what failed inside
the pumps you changed. I don't have any good answers yet but I would
make a direct ground connection from the battery to the pump harness to
eliminate any possibility of overheating of the pump motor from a poor
ground, and see if it helps any. Also check all pump connections before
you install it.
it is you crank posioion sensor it is located between the motor and the bell housing on transmission on passange top bell hosing one the sensor get warm it internaly grounds it self
