SOURCE: how to change spark plugs on 2005 acura tl

Hi,

you need a 6 inch extension, short 3/8 ratchet, 5/8 plug socket, 3/8 swivel "u" joint, (sold at sears) 8mm 1/4 drive socket deep well and 1/4 inch ratchet.

find the coil packs (6 total, three in each head.)
remove the two retaining nuts holding each coil pack using 1/4 8mm socket and ratchet.
twist the pack to break the sticking boot below.
pull up (be careful to not rip the boots however it may still happen but rare.)
remove coil packs, the rear is a little more difficult with the intake.
use 6" extension and u joint and ratchet to remove plugs and replace.
reverse order to assemble. Good luck, and hoped this helped.

SOURCE: 1999 Acura 3.2 TL has 87,000 miles changed spark

You need to replace your IAC (idle air control valve). The IAC, like it sounds, control the idle of your car. When they go bad they will cause the low idle and stalling. The IAC is located on the throttle body and is usually held on with a couple of screws. It is an easy relatively cheap fix that you can take care of by yourself. Let me know if you have any more questions. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

SOURCE: acura tl 3.2 2000 engine mis fired

the P0301 means Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected, and the P0303 means Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected. I think have known how to fix the problems after you knew where is the problem.

2003 acura tl error codes po301 po302 po304 po306 p1399 po300

PO300 and P1399 are random cylinder misfire detected.
PO301 cylinder 1 misfire
PO302 cylinder 2 misfire
PO304 cylinder 4 misfire
PO306 cylinder 6 misfire
I would say that you have damage to the ignition wiring harness or you ECM is failing.

I have an Acura tl 98 its missing fire #4 what could be?

Misfires are caused by fuel delivery problems, injectors or too rich or weak. Spark issues, coil, wires, spark plugs or the cap and roter.
I could also be a loss of compression. First thing to check is the easiest... spark plugs, spark and cap and roter. Also the cheapest.

What is the best way to change out my distributor cap on my 1998 Acura TL?

hello,
Locate the distributer cap. Mark all your spark plug wires with some tape and number system so they go back in the same position (on the new cap). Remove the spark plug wires from the old cap (after marking them) and lay them to the side. Remove the 2 Torx or Phillips screws from the cap. Lift the cap up and off. The rotor will be directly under the cap. Lift it up and off. This may take a little rocking motion while pulling on it to get it off. Align the new rotor on the shaft and push it on firmly. Place the new cap on and install the 2 screws removed earlier. Install the plug wires on the cap in the order they come off. Ensure the wires are pushed in firmly.
Thanks

My TCS and my check engine light went on. 1999 TL with about 162000 miles. Driving hwy is ok. But when it comes to a stop, the engine vibrates more noticably.

Replace your spark plugs and PCV. It's the cheapest possible solution. If that doesn't suffice Acura had a recal on EGR valves a few years back. I would suggest getting your EGR valve changed. It's not expensive and it's easy to get to. It doesn't take more than 10 minutes.
