Replace battery saturn sl1 1998

1. ImportantRecord all pre-set radio stations.
2. Turn the ignition OFF.

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .

Remove the accessory drive belt tensioner. Refer to Drive Belt Tensioner Replacement .

Install the engine support fixture. Refer to Engine Support Fixture .

Remove the front of the engine mount throughbolt and raise the engine for proper clearance.

2. Disconnect the generator electrical connections.

4. Remove the generator to engine block bolts and the generator.

remove battery (must do ( safety first ) ) then remove air bag then remove wheel then remove clock spring then remove headlight and wiper switch rev to install

The battery is in the ON_STAR module which is located in the left rear aft corner. It is accessible by removing the left bin. The battery retails for $95.00 at the dealer and $85.00 install fee.

Did you check the alternator? if it is faulty the car will drain all the power from the battery until it goes flat

how long is it before battery goes dead ???? check your trunck light ...i had a problem like that .and found out the trunk light was staying on so i removed it the problem was solved

Does battery have hold down bolds, clamps etc? look around the base of the battery for those.

Look for a wedge at the base of the battery. If it is this kind there will be one bolt in the middle that has to be loosened to relieve tension.

Turn off the car and remove the negative battery cable off. let sit a few minutes then reconnect the cable. try it several times. The removal of the battery causes the computer to deprogram itself. what you will be doing is re-programming the computer module.
