Knocking noise when accelerating

Heater 'gone out' = low coolant. Knocking noise = internal engine damage? Maybe low coolant = internal engine damage.

You need a trained technician to listen to this, but it sounds like a connecting rod and or a crankshaft main bearing noise. I lean more towards the rod knock form a worn out bearing.

If there was no noise when it went to zero I would replace the sending unit by the oil filter for a few dollars. If it is a light ticking and it is all the time I would replace the bad lifter but if it is more clanking or thumping you have problems. If you disconnect one plug wire at a time and run it for a few seconds and the noise goes away that cylinder has a bad connecting rod bearing. I would pull the oil pan and replace the bearing. Or just replace crank and connecting rod bearings and get rid of it

it sounds to me like you have inferior gas in the tank, or some water has gotten in your fuel. you may be able to add a little denatured alcohol to the gas and it may burn off the water. good luck

check your rocker arms and your rods see if there not musshrumed

Knocking noise is generally from the engine. What is your oil pressure? If pressure is low and oil is reasonably full, refrain from driving it till the cause is determined. Noise can also come from the transmission or transfer case but more likely it's from the engine.It can come from sticking valve lifters (moderately bad to potentially serious) connecting rod or main crank bearings (always serious) or piston slap (annoying, expensive but not terribly serious unless very bad) Piston wristpins can also knock but are very rare in todays pistons. Either way, this is not an item to ignore.

Sounds as If You Have A Chipped Tooth On the "RING GEAR" in the Differential (Rear Alex).
Is this Where You Hear The Noise Coming from? If So Remove Diff Cover With One Wheel OFF The Ground Trans In Neutral Rotate Drive Shaft and Look Closely For ANY Abnormal Surface on EACH Tooth of RING GEAR= the Large one And The "PINION GEAR" the Small one. If you find Chip or Rough spot Diff Must Be Rebuilt. Beyond that A Pinion Bearing can Also Make A Knocking Noise But the "GEARS" Will Be a Rhythmic Noise. Just start at the front and lube every thing that has a lube fitting. Make sure that you lube all the drive lines. this should stop your creaks.
