Rear tires of my 2004 F-250 will not move off hub after removing lug nuts. Tried to lube and beat tires with mallet they will not move off hub.
Spray pentrating oil around where wheel meets hub and also around lug bolts let set for about 15 min then take a sledge hammer and hit from underneath make sure the truck is blocked up good for safty
if that doesnt work take a small sissor jack between the rim and the fram and put a lot of pressure on it then hit it with the sledge from underneath
First off you all need to know that I am not an expert and the method I used is not really all to safe but was what I came to after trying all the other solutions posted here (im positive they all helped tho). Front tires came off no prob but back tires would not budge at all. I ended up jacking One tire at a time, removing the e-brake ( thus begins the unsafe part). I then spun the tire fairly fast and started kicking it under and from behind (even less safe)... The tires came off after only about 2 welcomed of kicking, like magic.
I tried everything before, even a 25lbs crowbar, rubber mallet and 3 types of lube. None budge it at all.
Again this is a very unsafe method and I was desperate... But it worked very well. Never Jack your car on un even surface and dont use this method alone if you do end up doing it, I had my wife with me.
Spray pentrating oil around where wheel meets hub and also around lug bolts let set for about 15 min. Lay down and with the heal of some heavy duty shoes - kick the ish out if it. I tried it on a 2003 lexus gx470.
I had this same problem on my 2004 F250. There was a build up of rust between the hub and wheel. I had to take a 5lb hammer and tap the wheel several times before it broke loose. Keep working it and it will break free.
I had the same problem with my 2006 dodge truck......after removing the lugnuts the friking tire wouldnt come off the rotor.......
if you are using a rubber mallet......all you have to do is hit it at the very edge of the rim at the top and then bottom....and then side to side.............or if they are really stuck on there.........you can use a big piece of wood and repeat the same steps as with the
mallet...... becarefull not to ruin your rims.........
hope this helps
